Carb Sync on an 01 YZF 600R

Where are the vacuum ports on the carbs of an 01 YZF 600R. I bought gauges and need to know where to place the hoses. Also. Do I use the throttle body adjustment to sync? If not, What do I use?

Here is a diagram showing the tubes you connect your vacuum gauges to.

The YZF600R is carbureted, so I do not know what you mean by throttle body adjustments.
Synchronizing carburetors means adjusting the throttle plates (butterflies) so that all cylinders are drawing the same amount of vacuum.
Here is a diagram of the carbs. Screw #31 is the screw used to change the sync.

Remember one other key point, all carbs are sync'ed to the #3 carb. You cannot change the vacuum (directly) on #3. It is usually best to start by syncing #2 to #3, then #4, then #1. Changing #2 can affect the sync on #1 so you definitely want to do 1 after 2 no matter what. If you have one cylinder WAY out of sync, that would be an exception to the previous rule where you would want to attempt to get that cylinder in the ball park of the others before fine tuning each cylinder.
Syncing the carbs is an alternating process between adjusting the vacuum then adjusting the idle. If they were out of sync, bringing them back in, or even getting close, can cause the idle to raise because the engine isn't fighting itself anymore. Always keep the engine idling @ 1100 rpm's while syncing.

Mikuni bs32ss doing a carb sync. Where to attach vacuum hose and which screw to adjust. Even the "manual" doesn't identify which screw or where to attach hose. Pictures would be nice. Thanks

Each carb has a small vacuum port on the side above the float bowl, you adjust the idle stop screw to set the tune and sync the carbs. Leave the air fuel mixture screws alone.

How to tune multiple carburetors, on my bike

You need a special tool call a vacuum manometer tool kit, it measures the vacuum reading from each carb at the test port, the idea is to adjust the throttle base setting so all carbs have the same vacuum showing on the four vacuum meters. I need ported vacuum port on a 3x2 early ford. The center carb has none. Can I drill and tap the center carb or what?

why exactly do you need a port for vacuum on that carby
it it is to run equipment such as vent controls, gauges etc the the vacuum from the manifold port will do the job
if it is to run the vacuum advance for a distributor then the other carbys ports can do that
most early carbys were mounted onto a base section with the butterfly control in it and the vacuum port already in the right place so just get another base
you can try drilling and tapping in a fitting but if it is a vacuum port that has to be in exactly the right place so as to be controlled by the position of the butterfly then it may you several carbys to get the positioning right.

Hi, Ktatejr86 and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel cap or fuel tank is not venting properly.
2. Fuel filter clogged.
3. Fuel line pinched or kinked.
4. Float needle and seat sticking.
5. Float level too low.
6. Carburetor bowl vent line clogged/blocked/pinched.
7. Idle adjusting screw set too low.
8. Air/fuel mixture screw set too lean.
9. Idle port, transfer ports, slow air jet clogged.
10. Slow fuel jet clogged.
11. Faulty fuel pump.

Crank no start yzf 600r

Inject some carb cleaner spray through the opened air filter while cranking.
Spark plugs work? timing on the camshafts ok?
Crank it without turning the throttle on.
Pull the choke cable if you need to.
It should fire up without throttle.
Use the carb cleaner spray to help it (don't spray too much.It will backfire from the carbs).

You shouldn't have to adjust anything as long as you don't increase the jet size and put everything back the same way it is removed.
