If the bike has carbs and not fuel injection then the floats are stuck open. try tapping the side of the fuel bowl with a srew driver handel and it may dislodge it to shut the fuel off. If this does not work then you will need to remove the carbs and repair them.

150cc roketa 4 wheeler 4 stroke. the fuel pump has 4 outlets on it Fuel in, fuel out, vacuum, and vent. What does the vent outlet connect to?

probably nothing as it is a vent tube to allow equalization of pressure on the fuel in the carby
at best it will connect to the air cleaner area at the air filter

Have a 1985 magns 700 that was in pieces when i got it was told that the fuel tubes leaked but when i found all the tubes i did use starter fluide to start it and black smoke came out the tail pipe

Black smoke is caused by to much fuel, starting fluid may cause this , but should clear in a few minutes, If not the system is flooding with fuel. Check carby needle and seat, blocked air filter, fuel float level set to high, fuel pressure to high. Injector leak if fuel injected.

Why is fuel in vent tubes on my carbs

Hi, Rick and the usual suspects are:
1. Damaged or restricted fuel tank venting system.
2. Loose float bowl screws.
3. Damaged float bowl o-ring.
4. improper fuel level in the float bowl.
5. Worn or dirty inlet valve or seat.
6. Damaged or leaking float assembly.
7. Particle contamination in inlet fitting cavity.

How do I clean a carby

You can first try some carb cleaner. Remove the air cleaner from the carby, and the fuel inlet tube. Soak the innards or the carby in carb cleaner, and try to full the fuel bowl as well, via the inlet or the vent tube.

If the main jet and idle jet are gummed up the carby will need to be disassembled, at least partially. There are overhaul kits you can buy with new gaskets. Go very slowly as there are springs and little steel balls in a carby, and these have to be replaced correctly.

You can also get recon carbys for most models.

Already change the pump fuel but cannot start

You may have an air lock in the fuel line.
Pour a bit of gas in the carby and start the engine, you may need to do this a few times until the fuel reached the carby.

89 mitsubishi carby model has spark and pumps fuel to carby but the spark plugs are dry just keeps cranking but wont even try to fire also has good comp, was driving till water pump blew now just wont fire...

Check that the fuel pump is working and pumping fuel (fuse or burnt out) as it sounds like there is no fuel in the carby. To check if the engine is going to run remove the air filter from the top of the carby and pour about a table spoon of fuel directly into the carby throat. Replace the air filter and crank the engine. If is going to run it will fire and then stop

1982 gmc pickup I replaced the mechanical fuel pump and still am not getting fuel up to the carb and it will not start

You most likely have an air lock in the fuel line or fuel pump.
To start the engine and hopefully get the fuel to the carby, pour a little fuel down the carby and then start the engine. You may need to do this several times until you get the engine running.

95 vulcan 1500 pours gas out of the overflow tubes after start up

Fuel bowl needle is bad and not seating properly to seal the bowl when enough fuel has entered, thus it overflows out of the vent tubes.

Fuel coming (sometimes pouring) out of the airbox vent pipe when the engine is turned off. It will also continue for a time with the ignition off and then slow to a stop. But will sometimes start again...

Sounds like needle & seat in carbys could be sticking or float levels maybe to high when you turn your key on your fuel pump starts and this puts pressure on needle & seat and if floats are to high the petrol just keeps flowing Float is what stops petrol flooding the carbies, check minor things first like dirt in needle seat if you have a compressor give carbies a light blow out.
