Adding Reverse Gear To Some Harley's and Some Twin Cam/5 speed tranny's.

I have had quite a few questions regarding adding a reverse gear to bikes.

I am in the process of rebuilding my Suzuki VS800 Intruder and adding a Voyager Trike Kit to it. While searching, I found that Tabor Trikes USA has a Reverse Gear Kit for the following bikes;

Reverse Gear for Harley Davidson Motorcycles
Now available for 6 speed transmissions

Available for 1984-1999 Evo/5-speed and 1999-2005 Twin Cam/5-speed transmissions.

You can contact them for more information. There is a CONTACT link on the left side of the page. It's the bottom "Link Button". Please use it to find out if they have a Reverse Gear for your bike if it's not listed above. They are always adding new items.

Here is the Website Link. Tabor Reverse Gear Kit

The Reverse Gear Kits are expensive, $1349.00, but well worth the cost if you are disabled as I am. Here are the installation instructions;

I hope this helps in answering your questions regarding Adding Reverse Gears to your Bike.

What sizes do grill pans come in?

Grill pans are available in 2 basic sizes. The first is an oblong shape that is designed to fit over 2 burners. These pans are great for entertaining as they can handle a large amount of food, and they often have a flat surface on the reverse side for making pancakes, grilled cheeses and the like. The other size is a smaller pan, with a single handle and a diameter of around 12 inches (30 cm). These are ideal for single-person cooking, and they don't take up much space.

1996 Honda GL 1500 Aspencade Gold Wing will not go in reverse

Hi, Anonymous before testing any electrical component in the Reverse Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries otherwise the usual suspects are:
1. The reverse electric motor fuse was blown.
2. Reverse button stuck in the depressed position.
3. Run/off switch in the off position.
4. Bike not in neutral.
5. Faulty relay, reverse actuator, solenoid, regulator module,
6. Wire connectors in the reverse system faulty due to corroded, bent, broken, loose, retracted or missing wire pins and sockets.
7. Reverse cables not properly adjusted.
8. Faulty reverse lever components.
9. Reverse lever not in the on position.
10. The side stand is in the down position.
11. The reverse motor has failed and needs an overhaul.

My 1994 Goldwing SE keeps blowing the starter fuse. I took the switch apart and cleanded it, 'cause it sticks sometimes. The starter relay on the right side is new. I know it also ties in with the neutral...

I was called to look at one of these beasts once where it was popping fuses and sometimes it would run for a short while then die. It ended up being the rectifiers in the alternator. I removed the alternator and took it to a car electrician who replaced the diodes relatively cheaply, If I remember correctly, it cost about £25. I found out that the numpty who owned the bike had fitted a battery where the connections were reversed and weakened the rectifiers hence sometimes it would run then it wouldn`t. Hope this helps, Ian

What are the advantages & disadvantages of reverse gear in a two wheeler? Why usually two wheelers don't have reverse gear?

Advantage with heavy bikes is that you can reverse them without having to have a lot of power.(Honda Goldwing etc,)
Lighter bikes don't need them as you can push them backwards fairly easy.
There is no disadvantage other then producton costs.
Ofcourse it will take a bit of getting use to reversing on a two wheeler.

You have a bent shift fork. The repair is major surgery by the dealer. Sorry for the bad news.
