Question about 2003 Triumph Daytona 600
Thanks to 'Double Clutch' re occasional knock after new tyre fitted.Have checked 'crush rubbers' all ok, knock only happens when using throttle, if clutch is pulled in and coast- no problems. I've put on paddoch stand and started on tickover- no problems, rev up- no problems, put into gear- no problems, only when I use throttle in gear and simulate driving off is there a knocking sound which seems to be comming from the front chain cog (although the sound could be transfering from the back) I was wondering if there is a spacer missing so that when throttling, it is pulling the wheel out of line and causing something to knock. can't find diagram to show me what should go where.
If the rear tire is bolted down and torqued properly then the chain should not move the rear tire. Try taking the chain off the bike completly and if you can remove the sprocket cover and run the bike and maybe see what going on. Check the chain links while it is off to see if they move freely.
