May I suggest a trip to your local library. Cycle repair books should be in 646 stacks of reference.
They should have your diagram. Otherwise you can look up Clymer service manuals on the internet.

How many wires are on the loom to it? And what colours are they.a typical amount is 5
3 yellow or white wires these don't matter which way around they go,the next would be black-and-white and the next red.red goes to the battery and black to earth.so if your new reg/rec has 3 the same then connect the 3 yellow/white to them .

if it wont stop charging then there is a bad regulator/rectafier,and it will need to be replaced.on most vehicles the reg/rec is usually inside of the alternator and in that case the alternator will need replacement, but in your case i am pretty sure that the reg/rec is separate from the alternator. In order to find out if it is separate from the alt call an auto parts store and ask them if they sell just the regulator/rectifier separate from the alternator. If they do then replace just the reg/rec.If it is not sold separately then replace the whole alternator

Ktm 250sxf not charging

There should be 3 white wires on both the rectifier and the harness, if the one you switched it with is pinned different then youll still have the problem.

Bike has no power but will still crash start bike will also only go if the lights are on when lights are off bike have poor idel and will not accelerate i was thinking maybe ignition coil

It is more likely to be either the Regulatoer/Rectifier or the Magneto coils or pick-up. Your magneto sends a series of pulses at various revs. This is changed and evened out by the Reg/Rec. First step is to check quality of all connections from magneto upwards to all relevent components. IE; ignition coil, CDI unit, Reg/Rec, battery (if applic.). If the bike normally runs with a city light or running light when ignition is on, then check all switches for crossed, pinched or broken wire connections, especially around headstem area. Ideally, a service manual with relevent ohm resistance figures and a multi-meter should lead you to the problem. CDI units, Reg/Rec, Magneto Coils and pulse coils are very expensive as are ignition coils. They will all be affected eventually if the problem is not identified and fixed. Goodluck.

1987 Shadow 700 charging problem

yes there is a couple of different ways to test these components, first you will need a voltmeter and the first test is an ohms (resistance) test unplug the stator and place the meter leads on the stator leads 1and 2 then 1and 3 then 3 and 2 should read between .2 and 2.5 ohms then do an insulation breakdown one lead to stator lead the other to ground should read OL or OFL if any reading stator is junk. Then test out put meter to ac-volts meter leads to stator leads start the bike should read 15-100 vac. Then as far as the reg/rec goes set meter to diode mode and place one meter lead to the power output and the other to the stator input side of the connector do this to all three wires and then rev. the meter leads and do again 0.3-0.8 forward bias OFL in rev. bias then place meter lead to ground wire on reg/rec and do the same test if you get readings in both forward and reverse bias the reg/rec is bad replace

I need the wiring schematic ? not just a diagram (I need to know where the wires go and their connections)- for a 1987 Suzuki Intruder 1400 Motorcycle I think my problem is with the alternator - but I need...

dont worry about the diagram. coming out of the motor you find 3 yellow wires they come for your stator. take a mutli meter and check to see if any of those 3 wires a grounded. if not start the bike and check for ac out put. the wire go to your reg/rec. if your getting a ac out put you reg/rec. maybe bad.

you may have a faulty reg/rec as well but get the wiring check to the reg/rec to.

I have a 94 cbr 1000 f i put a new battery in it, ran it around for 3 days, now it will only start if its hooked up to jumper cables and if the cables are taken off it stalls right away with no delay

you have a charging problem check the charging voltage should be around 13.50v if it lows you probley have a faulty reg rec or genrator test the coils of the genrator three yellow wires that plug in to the reg rec you should have restance of around 0.8 ohms when cold and no continutiny to earth test that you have battery voltage on the red wire and that you have continutiny to earth from the green wire if all that is fine you have faulty reg rec
