Yes it is a 2 stroke. I bought this bike off someone and I am looking to do the service myself. I am use to the 4 strokes bikes.

Try your local bike shop, most bikes handle a 10w30 or similar, depends on the age of the engine and its condition, if its getting tired, go for a 15w40 or similar, ask your buddies.

I would use 10W40 in the crank and 80/90w or 90w in the gear case.

I have a 92 Kawasaki 250 just got it but the thing is I Dnt know wht kind of oil to use for it

You must be more specific about exactly what model 250 you have. ie; KX, Ninja, KLR???? Also in which area does this oil go as in the KX, it would use a 2cycle oil in the gasoline premix and a transmission oil in the gearbox.

87 bayou has oil like fluid coming out of the pull start and push start won't crank the engine.

the shaft seal is bad behind the pull start and leaking oil into your stater which is why you arent getting any spark for it to crank

My kx 250 has no compression i put reg gas in and rode i think ran out of gas then tyred to jump it and it siezed up and now i try to kick it over and it gos half way and no compr

If it's a KX it's a 2-stroke and requires oil to be mixed with the gas. If you didn't have a gas oil mix, it is probably seized and maybe even damaged the crank. These bikes have excellent owners manuals that have all the info required to rebuild the motor, and 2 strokes are fairly simple. Good luck!

Oil contamintation, 1998 KX 250

Normally water gets in through the head gasket, sometimes you can hear if the head gasket has blown. One way of finding out is to take it to your dealer and ask them to do a compression check that will tell you if you have a duff gasket. You will also notice a slight drop in performance.

91 kx 250 blows smoke and drips alot of unburnt oil out the pipe

Does it have a stock pipe, carb, any modifications! If its stock,I would put a new ring and piston in it,it seems like your getting a lot of blowby, also make sure your air filter is clean. It would help if you used an iridium spark plug.
