Good day sir/maam, chances are yout tv just blew a fuse, when a fuse blew up, there are several reasons.

  • It protects your tv from further damage.
  • a part of your tv got bad, causing it to blew.
You have a choice of calling your service center/dealer or do it your own.

If you decide to do it yourself, these are the steps you may need to do.
  1. Open the TV's back cover, to access the circuit. locate the blowned fuse.
  2. you may need to pull out the entire board, to test it.
  3. test the switching regulator IC/transistor for shorts, (you may need a multitester).
  4. check for open low value resistors, less than 100 ohms.
  5. You really need to find the cause of the blew up fuse. part by part checking is necessary,
  6. replace the bad parts and test again.
  7. if everthing else fails, you really need to call your service.
note: if you simply replace the fuse without tracing the blew up shorted bad part, chances are the fuse may blew again.

Tv randomly turns off. Not sure if it is overheating or if something is broken.

Hello,
It sounds as if you are having problems with the AC Power reaching the television. Please verify the cord is firmly seated the tv's ac inlet
Also check the wall outlet (and power strip) by plugging in a lamp into it and see if it flickers when the tv shuts off.
Good Luck!

Last night I cut my computer off and it froze on the shutting down screen so I held down the power button and it cut off. Now when I cut it on the light on the monitor is orange. It's Gateway 817GM. Help?

1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.
