Fuel line problem at fuel filter conector, 1994 Buick Century

I know the feeling well when this happens. I to did the same as you and also did the clamp, but found the best way was to yous a crimp tool for fuel lines and its not come off since its like the tool to put brake lines on to the calipers and then you put the rubber hose onto it and using a fuel line clip to hold the rubber in place. has lasted the last 5 years now with no problems.

My fuel line came off of my 96 neon and i cant find where it goes

There are no diagrams that will show you the fuel lines that I am aware of. The service manual assumes that you allready know that the fuel line runs from the fuel tank to the engine. There are 2 quick connects in the short plastic hose that connects to the fuel filter/regulator assembly at the fuel pump module. One end connects to the fuel filter and the other connects to the main line that goes to the engine. It is VERY simple. There is no fuel return line from the engine back to the tank on your vehicle, so there is only one fuel line and absolutely no way to mix it up with anything else.

I need a diagram on fuel hose, I replace the hoses and forgot were it goes

If you have the saw I think you do, here is the deal. You have two hoses that go to the tank, one is a larger diameter than the other. The smaller diam. hose runs from the tank to the "inlet" side of the carburetor. (the fitting closest to the fuel pump cover, held on by one screw). This line rest in the bottom of the tank attached to a fuel filter. The larger diam. line attaches to the "tank" side of the primer or "outlet" side and sits in the tank about 1/4"-1/2", (there is generally a fitting on this end to prevent it from being pulled out of the hole). The third line, usually the same diam. as the fuel line, attaches to the primer "carb" fitting or "suction" side and attachs to the other fitting on the carb. Hope this helps.

I have hose leaking gas under neath, its not connectted to anything and can't find anyplace it could be connected to.help

It is probably connected to the carburetor on one end. This would be an overflow hose line and any gas in it is suppose to drip on the pavement. No dripping is what you should have. The float in the carb the hose is attached to is not fully closing. This could be due to trash from the gas tank or a float that is partly filled with gas and no longer floats as it should. Clean the carb and determine why the float needle is not fully shutting off the flow of gas. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Trying to replace the fuel line and the primer hose both were rotted off not sure what goes where on my poulan pro ppb200 31cc string trimmer there are two lines into the tank the primer wont fill i have...

The smaller line is connected to the fuel filter in the tank and goes on the carb body opposite the end with the hole in the cover. A larger diameter line coming out of the tank is the fuel return line and has the little connector on it just inside the tank to hold it in place there
It goes on the carb body (if primer is on carb) by the bulb.
If there is an external bulb...the small line is the same...there would be a larger line going from the carb body (nearest the end with a hole in the cover) to the smaller nipple on the primer bulb. A third larger diameter line would be connected to the larger nipple on the primer bulb and running to the little nylon connector inside the tank. This is the fuel return line and the smaller diameter line is of course the fuel supply line.

Fuel line

At the bottom of your fuel tank there should be a shut off valve and a shunt that has a line coming from it. (The other end is suppose to run through a filter then to the carb) As for the second. Perhaps a reserve tank or aux tank during the switch of fuel sources

Problem is that I do not know where the fuel lines are conected

Your carb has two hose connections, one is the inlet and the other is the return. The inlet (suction side) won't have any barbs on it (smooth brass pipe). The return side will have barbs to keep the hose from popping off if the line is plugged and is probably plastic. The inlet side should connect to the fuel filter that will be dangling from the hose inside the tank. Make sure the filter is free to move around the inside bottom of the tank

How to change fuel pump ?

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect fuel tank hose at the fuel pump, and plug the hose with a bolt or wooden dowel to keep any fuel from flowing out wires. Check the hose and if it is frayed or cracked, replace it with new fuel line hose.
  3. Disconnect the outlet line to the carburetor. Use a wrench on the fuel pump fitting and another on the line nut.
  4. Remove the two attaching bolts and remove the old fuel pump. Clean off any old gasket material from the mounting surface of the engine.
Installation:
  1. Apply a coat of gasket sealer on both sides of the new gasket. Put the attaching bolts through the new pump and slip the gasket over the bolts.
  2. Install the new pump on the engine. Make sure that the rocker arm in the pump is against the eccentric inside the engine, or that the push rod is correctly installed in both the engine and the fuel pump. If the push rod slides out, you can pack it with some heavy grease to hold it in place while you install the pump.
  3. Attach the fuel outlet line that runs to the carburetor. If it's difficult to connect, remove the other end of the line from the carburetor. Connect the line to the fuel pump, and then reattach the other end to the carburetor. Use a wrench to hold the fuel pump fitting and tighten the line nut with another wrench.
  4. Attach the fuel inlet hose from the gas tank, and the vapor return hose (if the vehicle is equipped with one). Tighten all clamps.
  5. Reconnect the battery ground cable, start the vehicle and check for leaks.
Hope that works
