Question about 1996 kawasaki GPZ 1100

1 Answer

Positions "Reserveswitch" Although my dealer says there's a fuel tank of 21 LR, I can never tank more than 16 l. This has probably to do with the reserve. But that's the problem. I have three positions for thr "reserveswitch": On, Res and PRI. What do they mean? How does it work? Nobody seems to know.

The On position is where you run the bike after filling the tank. The Res position is when you are almost out of fuel and the motor stutters you turn the switch it it and that will give you about 1/2 a gallon of gas left in the tank to get to a gas station and refill. Pri is for priming the carbs only. If you have ran out of gas after using the reserve fuel you switch it to this position to fill the float bowls with fuel. Do this for only 30 seconds and switch it back to On position.

Here's the problem/solution. Although the RMBR300 is able to save 16 presets, these are stored in the cameras. Some cameras, like the BRC300, only have 6 storage positions while others, like the BRCZ330, have 16. It's a feature of the camera that is limiting this, not the controller.

Will fire but stops after a few seconds. Not always reaching full rpm. checked for breather hole in filler cap

I would first check the spark plug and air filter. If the air filter has grass or dirt packed in the folds of the paper element, replace it. Also if the spark plug has a black charcoal like substance on it, it will need brushed off. The spark plug can be removed with a 13/16 deep well socket. If the unit will still not start, there may be water in the fuel tank. Drain the fuel tank and empty the contents of the fuel bowl on the carburetor. The carburetor fuel bowl has a nut on the side of it, it can be loosened with a 10mm wrench. Let it drain out completely, tighten the nut on the fuel bowl, and add fresh fuel. If it will not start at this point you will need to have the engine serviced. This can be done at any Honda Power Equipment repair shop. They may not want to work on it since it is on a Husqvarna mower, most will tell you that the only thing that they will work on is the engine. Alternately you can take it to a Husqvarna dealer and get the mower serviced there.

Hello everyone, was wondering if someone could describe possible reasons for the some of the issues we are having with our Malibu. a) We can no longer down shift to 2nd or 1st gear. When we go to 3rd gear...

a. take it to a transmission shop. b. yes this would be the sending unit in the tank. c. have the cv joints inspected. in fact while the trans shop is inspecting or repairing, they will have to pull the axles and will be paying attention to the front end. so if there is any front end issues they will see it too. d. replace the horn in the front of the car.

E-vac system on fuel tank

P0452 = Generic Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch Low Input.

Since you have a 2004 Envoy, you probably have the dreaded bad 2004 PCM. It is part of the emissions system so it is covered under the emissions warranty (although it's already 2009 and i'm not from the USA, so I'm not aware if that's still applicable).

But in other words: contact your dealer !

Fuel petcock

The petcock is what the fuel flows through when it comes out of the gas tank. It probably includes: * A switch with positions for On, Off and Reserve. * A fuel line going to the carburetors. * A vacuum hose attachment which attaches to a carburetor which tugs on a rubber diaphram to let gas flow through. * An overflow/drip valve from the vacuum area. It's located right under the tank on the rear/left side.

Fuel gage does not work

I just fixed that problem in my 87 Toyota pick-up. My fuel gauge showed FULL all the time. The sending unit in your fuel tank has probably croaked. I had to drain the fuel tank, remove it, and try to remove the screws that hold the sending unit in. The screw heads ALL snapped off due to them being 21 years old. Ended up having to buy a new fuel tank, as we couldn't get the broken ones out of the tank. Found an aftermarket new tank for about $275 at Advance Auto. Sending unit is only avaliable from Toyota for about $125.
