You defenitly have carb problems and will need to dismantel them and clean and adjust them. Also clean the tank out of old gas and put a new inline filter on it.

VW Polo wont start.know it has fuel and spark plugs are sparking.tries to start on first attempt but not after that. Mobile mechanic has run diagnostics found nothing that suggests it shouldn't start

Today's gasoline goes bad very quickly. If car sat unused for over three months, fuel may have gummed up pump or filter or even injectors. (Disregard if diesel) Try using small amount of spray starter fluid to see if it starts for a moment. If so, fuel system may require service.

2005 mazda 3 wont start. hear a clicking noise, gauges flutter, changed the battery and did not work. What could it be

possibly loose connection from battery to starter?,car has fuse for starting?....etc. Usually when a car's battery is very low and you try to start it,it would have those symptoms (gauges flicker/flutter). If the battery and connections are done properly, have you tried push starting (if standard transmission)it?. Possibly starter stuck on bad part of flywheel?;I'd try to rotate the crankshaft with breaker bar&socket (direction in which the engine would crank or run to avoid loosening the crankshaft bolt!!!) it would loosen the stuck starter/flywheel. Does your car have a starter solenoid or is it built in???

2000 jeep cheroke sport sat for 14 months now wont start not even with starting fluid

Check the obvious...spark and fuel. Make sure there aren't any obstructions in the air system (after that time it is possible for a mouse to have built a nest in there I've also seen them build a nest inside the exhaust...make sure at least something is coming out while cranking). If you have a security system, make sure it isn't locking you out of starting. Most need to have the door lock locked and unlocked using the key (on some, rear hatch)
Fuel has a one month storage life so that may not be helping, but with starter fluid, it should at least kick over but I wouldn't expect it to run really great till the next tank full. Speaking of mice, take a good look at the harnesses to make sure none have been chewed up (doesn't matter where you stored it, I've seen that happen just about everywhere)

Sat for about 3 months and wont start

Put fresh gas in the tank along with Seafoam fuel system cleaner

Make sure you have spark at the plugs

Make sure fuel filter is not gummed up with varnish from dried up gas.

It should now start so long as the starter is working properly and it was in running condition before it sat.

Use starter fluid to help it get started.

The bike wont start! seems to have good compression, and fire. the timimg mark is lining up at tdc but with a shot of starting fluid i have gotten a flame thru the carb! oh, and the valves have been...

If your XR600 has ever sat for more than just a few months, there's a very good chance that the carburetor is plugged with fuel varnish. This means that the carb will have to be disassembled and cleaned.
A big four cycle engine like your's may "feel" like it has good compression, but it may not have what it takes to start and run. Check the compression. With the throttle wide open and a few good kicks of the starter, you've got to see at least 140 psi of compression. Anything below that and it isn't going to start or run reliably. If the compression is low, the first thing to do is re-check the valve tappet clearances. Insufficient tappet clearance will cause low compression. Also make sure the kickstart-actuated compression release is not hanging up and causing compression loss after the kick start lever is returned to its parked position. If the valves are properly adjusted and the compression is still low, then internal engine repairs are needed.

My 2005 TT-R 125 has sat for a while.....

Your carb is gummed up if you let it sit for a while. It is not getting any gas through it is why once the starter fluid runs out it quits. Take the carb of and clean thoroughly. I do me take apart and clean clean clean.
