Oil leaking out of tube coming out of top of the motor on 2002 yz250f. It seams to be a breather tube, but I don't know. It's not connected at the bottom.

I pluged the tube that comes off the top of my motor

That tube is connected to the air box and reduces sump compression in the motor, if you plugged the tube it will start leaking oil as the gas presses oil out at different places and it can cause permanent damage to oil seals

Oil leaking from breather tube on my 1991 harley davison heritage soft tail on first start after four year storage

The engine "sumped", meaning the oil in the oil tank leaked past the check ball in the oil pump and is now in the bottom of the crankcase. Place a pan under the breather tube and run the bike until no more oil comes from the breather. keep an eye on the level in the oil tank. You don't want to run it dry. If you added oil, chances are the dipstick will fly out due to too much oil pressure. When you're done, either change the oil and filter, or add oil to the tank.

Breather tube throwing oil into carb

Oil coming via the engine breather can mean a worn engine, it could be as simple as an over filled sump, or the breather valve itself is not working, the breather valve allows the crankcase pressure out of the engine.

What makes a 2005 Yamaha YZ 450 F Blow Oil Out The Crank Case Hose Into The Breather And White Smoke Out The Pipe Thanks

Hi, Shawn_luke_I oil level readings are taken when the engine has reached normal operating temperature and the usual suspects are:
1. Overfilled oil tank dipstick reading should at or below full.
2. If the sight glass is full you are running to much oil.
3. Excessive blowby caused by worn out piston rings.
4. Piston rings never properly seated.
5. Faulty breather valve or system.
6. Pinched or clogged breather line/hose.
7. Clogged or failed oil filter.
8. Contaminated oil dirt-rust-water etc.
9. Excessive oil foaming.
10. Wrong oil type not designed for your bike.

Oil in the carb

Without any real detail about year, filter type or where the oil actually is "in" the carb I will try to answer. Oil can come from a few sources. The first is the breather tubes from the engine. If there is excessive blow-by the pistons, oil will be drawn into the carb through these tubes. There are also rubber check valves on top of the heads that can harden and cause the same issue. The last one is excess oil from a oiled cotton style filter (K&N). Either way, while in the garage, remove the air cleaner but leave the breather tubes connected. Get the motor up to temp and watch the tubes while reving the motor. If you see a heavy oil mist from the tubes perform a leak down check on each cylinder to identify the problem area.

Top of final gear there is a knob where oil is leakin

" Top of final gear ", If you mean the output sprocket then the oil seal needs to be replaced. Not a big deal to do. If the knob you refer to is on top of the gearbox then you probably are referring to the crankcase breather tube. A bit of oil here is normal especially as a bike gets older. Blow-by from the cylinders goes into the crankcase and the out the breather tube. The only way to stop the oil is to bore the cylinders and put in new pistons and rings.
