Question about 2003 Yamaha YZ 125
Hi i have a 2001 yz80 i rebuilt it and now it runs but does not hit the peack power (power band as some ppl say lol)im very good with building engines but when it cums to electrics im not to sure on it.the bike dose not miss fire or back fire just does not want to pick up.it sounds like your shuting it on and off realy fast.
Most Yamaha's have a a power valve system YPVS which will open at higher revs and on the yz it is normally via a centrifugal lever on the right hand side with a link to the power valve lever. If this is not connected back properly you will lose the powerband.

Sounds like it's trying to sieze if it's fluctuating and won't wind up. You may have to pull your cyledar back off and mike it to see if it is out of round and within specs.
