Question about 2008 Tomos Se 125 F

1 Answer

I have a 2002 tomos revival scooter that will only idle with the choke on. Carb is clean. The manual refers to a faulty lamel valve? what is this and where is it found? can I adjust this valve? How do I set the idle screw accurately?

There is no lamel valve, unless this is a foreign language. Your carb is not clean. It may appear clean, but the pilot system is still plugged. Replace the pilot jet, or get it totally unpluged. could be another part of it also.

Scooter has 40 original miles.New,old gas, I put innew gas. It starts, idles only, if I give it gas it stalls and won't run..

Hi, Rick if your bike has been idle for months or years and does not want to start you will have to deal with a few remedies:
1. Drain and flush fuel tank, google " how to clean a motorcycle gas tank" find a couple forums to view the different options available.
2. Remove your air cleaner and clean and re-oil per Mfg. specifications.
3. Remove the carburetor, disassemble and decontaminate with a carb dip or if you have EFI remove injectors and clean with carb spray and compressed air
4. Remove fuel valve and filter disassemble and clean as necessary, remove fuel lines and replace with new ones.
5. Replace spark plug with a new one and check for spark.

I have a Tomos a35 Sprint and I put a 70cc cylinder jug on it, a techno circuit pipe and I have a new carb. I up jetted it to a #58 and it starts only when the choke is down, once I take the choke off it...

You need to adjust the idle 1st.Main jet #58 is just for wide open throttle. Start by turning air screw all the way in "gently" till it stops, and back it out 1 and a half turns. Back out idle screw until slide is closed " not touching slide" . Turn until just contacts slide plus 1 full turn in opening slide. Start it up with the choke on and turn the air screw slowly in or out and slowly move the choke off till you can get it to run with the choke off. Than adjust idle screw " the one that moves the slide up and down to set the RPM. If you cant get her to idle with the choke off and the carb is air tight on the intake manifold. Carb might be to big. If you can get her to idle but it runs ruff I will try to help you tune the carb further. Good luck.

Hi, Domagoj and the usual suspects are:
1. Idle speed improperly adjusted.
2. Inlet system air leak.
3. Leaking accelerator pump.
4. Loose low-speed jet.
5. Plugged low-speed jet.
6. Contaminated or plugged low-speed circuit.
7. Enrichner valve is not seated or leaking.

Lifan 50cc scooter not starting. I replaced choke solenoid and cleaned the carb. Am getting spark and putting sight vacuum on on hose leading to gas tank valve does produce gas flow in hose attached to...

It requires three main things to start the scooter:--- 1)Gas. 2) Spark. 3) Cylinder compression.---------- Any of the one is not functioning right so scooter is not starting.------------ Its possible that gas is not flowing till the carb and that is causing the problem.Either gas valve is clogged or faulty.Or gas line is clogged or carb itself is dirty and gunked up inside and needs to be cleaned.--------- Click this link below and follow the troubleshooting :--- http://whatisbyme.blogspot.com/2011/08/lifan-50cc-scooter-not-starting.html ----------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Tomos Revival no spark

Hi, Petersfam271 and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting/leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty pulse coil.
8. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
9. Faulty ignition switch.
10. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
11. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

1995 Targa LX- starts with full choke, runs fast for 10+ seconds and then stalls but can easily be restarted by using the choke with the same results. Gas is flowing freely from tank.

Had same problem,if you take the carb off, take the nylon bushing out, look into manifold side of carb, there should be a very small hole there, that is a fuel passage(idle jet),more than likely it is clogged, use a bread tie and clean it,while carb is off you may want to clean and rebuild carb, hope that helps you out.

How to bore the carb on a scooter tomos 49 cc 2008

You never bore any carb. To do so would destroy the carb. You have a Mikuni carb and nothing you can do to it is going to help add honest power to a 49cc engine. Sorry.
