2004 FZ6 Fazer: oil for a 2004 fx6?...

The recommended engine oil for the Yamaha FZ6 is as follows: SAE 10W30, SAE 10W40, SAE 15W40, SAE20W40, or SAE 20W50. The exact weight will depend on the average temperatures the motorcycle will be exposed to.
Any oil you use must meet the following standards: API service SG type or higher, JASO standard MA.
Be sure you buy an oil that DOES NOT have friction modifiers for increased fuel economy. These are NOT for use with a "wet" clutch, such as those found on motorcycles.

How much oil and what kind when doing oil change

Oil preference is very much a subject for debate, but any 10W40 v-twin motorcycle oil will do fine. If using anything not spcific to motorcycles, make sure that it does NOT have the "energy saving" logo in the rating mark; this can cause clutch slippage. I have used Rotella diesel oil for most of my C50's 34K miles- Irecently switched from the synthetic 15W30 to the dino 10W40 because of concerns as to the weight in hot weather, so if you are in a cooler climate, the synthetic may just be the ticket for you. Volume is 3.6 quarts when changing with the filter.

Where is the oil filter? Going to change my own oil for the first time since I bought my 2001 BMW 325xi five months ago and didn't have the manual and wanted to find out where the oil filter is and what...

the oil filter is under the back seat, your going to have to unbolt the back seat and is under the left side by the gas tank. the oil weight to use is 10w40. good luck

Oil consumption-1 Qt/1000 miles-50k on vehicle 2005 Hyundai Tuscon

Are you using the correct weight oil as outlined in your owner's manual. You car is unusual in that the specifications require you to use 10w40 oil when driving above −13 degrees fahrenheit. It also states that you are to use 5w20 when operating the vehicle in temperatures below 14 degrees fahrenheit. Then goes on to say not to be used for sustained high speed operation. So all in all the specifications for your vehicle are odd in that most vehicles today use 5w20 weight oil. I personally would use 10w40 or 10w30 weight in this engine as that would be appropriate for the vast majority of how and where you drive. If you are using a lighter weight oil that may be why it is using oil at this rate

I have a 2001 Vulcan Classic 1500 and I need to know exactly what type of oil and weight of oil I need to use for a complete oil & filter change?

Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell. If in a hot area like Texas or New Mexico go with 20w50. Definitely change the oil filter.
