Odometer inop

replace the speedo or the cluster

Get on it and ride it some more, as the wheels turn they will then turn the speedo drive weather in the gear box or at the front wheel,

This in turn twists the speedo cable or fires the electronic speedo drive , this will then make the speedo needle leave the zero stopper and slowly rotate in the speedo cluster.

Whilst this is happening the trip meter will clock over meters + kilometre's , this will add milage to you fz.

Now this is a long winded description of how to do it but I guess that if you can t work out how to add milage to your bike you needed it.

good luck with it hope this info helps you.

Speedometer does not work

old cars use the old way.
you also failed to say, does the odometer work (big deal that)
I toss my trusty loaded dice and land on both dead.
they use cables.
it can only be:
1: bad cable.
2: bad gears bottom end of said cable (transmission)
3: bad speedo cluster.

there tests are easy.
drop the bottom end of the cable and spin it.
bingo. your answer.

if the odemeter and speedo are both dead,
its usually that the cluster bad. its cable and end drive bad.

Speed odemeter

You did not give the make model and year, but I will assume you have a sensor instead of a speedo cable.
The speed sensor may need to be tested. If it is faulty the computer would not know if the vehicle is moving or not.

Speedometer and odemeter not working

You could also try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. My 328i had a similar problem and every now and then I would have to disconnect and reconnect the battery to get the speedometer and odometer working again.
