Sounds like you need a new control board with thermistors. you probably have a relay that is getting hot and quitting.

Yesterday temp gauge began rising. Went to top. Stopped. Let it cool down. Repeated 4 times on 25 mile drive home. This morning put water in reservoir. Gauge rose quickly to normal & stayed. ...

Probably a cooling fan issue or maybe a stuck thermostat.. change thermostat and check that cooling fans engage..good luck...also when you fill up the resorvoir let it be for a while and check to see if level is down, sometimes it takes a while for water to seep into radiator, i assume you dont have a radiator cap?

When the car is hot, it will start to run rough and my turn off and needs to cool down befor you can restart it.

Check the ignition timing. If it is okay, check the ignition coil. Defective ignition coil stop functioning when hot and will be good again when it cooled down.

Probably magnetron failure- needs to go back to the dealers, this is a major job, may be cheaper to replace the oven
