How to change spark plug on a V star 2002

Remove plastic covers from the heads (front on left side of bike, rear on right side). Use the spark plug wrench that came with the bike in the toolkit. You do not need to remove the seat.

How do i program a tork dtu40 timer

1) Copy following link for programming manual and wiring Tork DTU40 40amp timer.

2) The timer mechanism is old Intermatic/Grasslin/GE discontinued model, and then newly re-minted by Tork in 2012. Timer has 1 year limited warranty against defects in workmanship. This timer is protected from surge by the reset feature, but can burn out in heavy surge event. Non-replaceable Internal rechargeable battery retains programming until timer is reset. Always reset new timer to delete trace memories.

3) This timer can be wired many different ways, and timer automatically detects voltage, so there are no dip switches to set. Timer must be wired before power is turned on. Do not spark-test across terminals.

Its called a torks (spelling not correct) and usually a #10 or smaller, you can buy a set of 5 or more for under 20 dollars at home depot and most hardware stores sell the larger ones---

A set of the smaller ones is handy for a lot of things including cell phones and devices that are small----Philips started all this, going from conventional to torks----Had several Philips Plasma sets with over 50 to remove to just take the cover off.

How do you program a Tork 602A timer? I can't get mine to cycle on and off at a desired time.

The Tork 602A mechanical outdoor timer with 2 grounded outlets.
Tork 601A and 602A manual
Manual has images of timer that will help.

Plug timer into outdoor outlet.
To set current time, rotate dial clockwise until current time lines up with arrowhead located on inner dial.
Dial is divided into light and dark sections that represent day or nighttime hours.
Reset time after power outage.

96 pins located around timer dial are used to set on-off times.
Each pin represents 15 minutes in 24 hour day
Move pins in-or-out with fingernail or ink pen to set timer on-off functions.
With Tork timers, usually when pins are out, timer is ON.
When pins are in, timer is OFF.
To double-check pin setting, manually rotate timer to watch when lights turn on-off.

Set multiple ON/OFFs each day.
Change on-off times by resetting a pin or two.
Timer repeats every 24-hours.

Manual ON/TIMER switch is located on inner dial.

Set Manual switch to TIMER for programs to operate.
To override time and turn on Load, move override to ON position.

How to set a tork timer?

Tork makes a page-full of timers.

Rotate dial until current time lines up with arrow, then set the pins as shown in photo below

1) If timer plugs into wall receptacle, it has pins around the dial.
2) If timer replaced a wall switch it also has pins around dial.

GE and Woods and Tork and Intermatic each make similar timers.
Pull and push the pins to set times.
The wall-switch type timer also has a switch >>> move switch to Timer

I have a Tork 806A timer, but no instructions on how to set the on/off cycles.

Tork 806A: There are 6 outlets. Bottom two outlets are always on. Top four outlets controlled by timer all four outlets turn on and off at same time.

Load: Total load on all 6 plugs cannot exceed 1500 Watts, which is typical for 15A circuits. Indoor wall plugs are 15A. Don't add more load to timer than you would put on ordinary wall plug.

Set Time: Rotate dial clockwise to set time. On face of dial, Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} push tabs down to turn on loads, pull them up to turn off loads.

Do i need to use antiseaze and tork the spark

Question 1-

Using antisieze makes it easier the next time you have to remove spark plugs but is NOT necessary. Torquing them is good to do because you won't snap them if you don't know the "feel" of being tightened...cranking them in will cause them to be a pain to remove the next time or potentially snap them when installing. Tighteneing them to the point of snugged down is good. You shouldn't "white-knuckle" them.

Question 2-

This is what the part looks like:

Disconnect the wire connector
Unscrew the 2 mount bolts...
Remove egr valve
reinstall in reverse order.

Broke a spark plug off in the head of my 1.8L, 2002 Sentra

If you have the nerve you could try using a screw extractor

Get an old plug saw it off at the same point as the other one sheared aan use it for a dummy run

Take a drill and make a hole down the centre big enough for the screw extractor (They come in different sizes and a set is quite cheap)

See if you can obtain a reasonable grip with the screw extractor

Make sure you do not drill right down to the porcilain other wise on the real attempt you will end up with the broken bits in the piston bores.

If you go for it then coat the area around the broken plug top with grease to catch any swarf when you use the drill

Clean up the area and then apply some heat to the block area not the plug give it a few minutes and then try the extractor

If that does not work then it is a workshop job
