Will not start after runing out of fueland runing battre down

Charge the batter and find your fuel shut off. It is normally behind the kick panel on the passenger side. When you run out of fuel the safety switch activates to prevent you from destroying your engine. Only activate the switch back to the on position after you fill it with fuel/

I have 94 toyota camry v6 xle 3.0 i have had this car for 2yrs and haven't had any issues. But one day I was driving and my oil light came on as I was on my way to the store to get oil my car shut off on...

Did you top up the oil? some cars will shut down when the oil light comes on it usualy turns off the fuel pump and is a safey design of the car to stop the engine in a roll over situation and can also save your engine if it runs low on oil.

I have a 1986 GMC 1500 with a 5.0 and stock rochester carb. The truck will start but you must keep gassing it as it won't idle. It kicks off every time. Any suggestions on how to fix this cold natured

fast idle speed screw, works off the fast idle cam which the choke adjustment sets, it works together by linkages. This is the raised idle speed setting you need to keep a cold engine running. First you set the idle speed by the idle speed screw with engine at normal operating temperature. Then you set the linkage up so the cam is on a raised step, throttle will be held on that raised step. then you can turn the idle speed screw to get idle at about 1500-1800 rpm. Now when you start engine cold, choke will set the fast idle cam on that raised step- when engine starts and runs it should be running at your fast idle setting. That's how it supposed to work, you just have to get everything adjusted right. I hate carburetors, they never stay adjusted right. Considering their complexity and small mechanical parts, no wonder.

Ok, I have a Ford 350 7.3 PSD Ambulance 1997 Model 3 Class 1. I was driving it and it started to shake real bad and lost power. I pulled over, and let it high idle for about 10 to 15 minutes, it idled...

running an engine without oil is like trying to keep your body alive without blood-you probably didn't trip the fuel shut off. I would start by running a compression check-if you have any next would be to see if the plugs are wet with fuel after trying to start and last check to see if spark is getting to plugs-sorry mate-cheers Denny

What is H and L carb setting for a Poulan P3314

The "L" is your idle setting and the "H" is the wide open fuel setting. After the engine starts and runs a minute adjust the "L" to the smoothest run setting the go full throttle and adjust the "H" the same way.

Hope this helps.

What is wrong if it will not idle

It would help to have engine codes but it sounds like leaking injectors hard to start because any time the key is on gas is just running into the engine. No idle to much gas. Oil level high because of gas in oil going past rings could blow oil pan off. High speed fine. replace injector or injectors. Look down throttle body with key on and see if gas is leaking out. If this help someone please rate it

Starts with starting fluid runs for a few seconds then shuts down

Good test. Do not keep doing that.
Make a new and accurate gas/oil mixture. Empty and refill. Secure cap. Be sure to flood system during start attempt. Can you smell gas? Oops, too much, better wait 30 seconds for full evaporation.
Two little screws near carb. Both are actually needles and probably have a visible spring which keeps them from vibrating to a new position while in use. One fuel/air mixture at low idle (start). One fuel/air mixture at high RPM.
Try 1 1/2 full turns open from fully closed. Once to get it to idle roughly, adjust to a smooth idle. Do the same at full throttle. You will notice that the more you shut the full throttle down, the higher the RPM will go (assuming that it is near correct). Do not run it to lean. The mechanics of the motor needs the oil from the gas.
Smile always.

I have a sym jet 50 basix the problem is that the carburetor screws have been tinkered with and now it seem to be runing as if it is choked and there is alot of smoke also after a short run the engine...

Lightly seat both screws then open each of them one and one half turns. This is the factory setting for Japanese bikes. Clean the air filter, install a new spark plug, I assume the Sym has a two stroke engine, mix the gas ans oil 32 to 1. That equals 4 ounces of two stroke engine oil per gallon of gas. NEVER use motor oil, only two stroke engine oil. Also, tighten all carb fittings such as mount bolts and clamps. Replace any rubber fittings if you see cracks. A cracked manifold will let air into the mixture which leans the mix and makes the idle rev upward.
