2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.

2002 ford escape starts but wont stay running unless the foot is kept on the pedal. took it to a shop and had a diagnostic test on it. It's saying there is nothing wrong. Mechanic said it must be

Computers rarely fail. The diagnostic would not show anything wrong unless a trouble code is set UNLESS the diagnostic used live data vieew. Most shops dont do that . So at what RPM does it not die? How many miles are on it? Ford uses something called an idle air speed motor. They are prone to fouling.

My 1991 fzr600 wont start unless i give it gas and it will only stay running if i stay on the throttle

Sounds like your carbs are clogged, leaving choke wide open or staying on throttle to force running conditions merely tries to bypass the pilot jets but ultimately the carb needs to be thoroughly cleaned and if the gas is pretty bad you will need to flush your fuel tank out as well.

I have a Yamaha YZ85 2006 that wont stay running. When its kick started it will only run for a few seconds. Do you know what the problem might be?

Carb gummed up from sitting with old gas 4 mos are longer. REMOVE & have it cleaned by a Yamaha Dealer. The only way to get it right.

I have a kenmore elite quit pac 2 that wont stay running unless you hold the start button down. I dont have much money to fix it but cant afford to buy a new one. What can I do?

  • firstly dont hold your finger on the button
  • by doing this you are running the motor on the start winding
  • this winding is for momentary operation only, just to get things started.
  • You must have a fault in the run circuit of the motor.
  • To save your dryer. dont use it till you get someone who can fix the run circuit. It may only be contact failure, or jammed up with lint.
  • Good luck

My 2001 YZF 600 wont stay running unless choke is open?

Are you saying your motorcycle will not run unless the engine is NOT CHOKED?

That is how it is suppose to run. Choke only when needed in cold weather.

Perhaps I misunderstand your question?

2006 yamaha waverunner wont idle

what is it idle at? how much? remove your seat check air filter if is black oily remove it and see if that fixes your problem you may want to change your spark plugs as well # one cylinder may be starting to foul the new yamahas are the worst for fouling plugs use a cr8eb instead of the cr9eb the 8s are hotter and work better try those and let me know thank you
