The regulator is inside the alternator. Get a new alternator or disassemble the alternator and install a new one. My option is get another alternator.

Battery doesn't charge

It doesn't affect the charging. Have your alternator tested. If it is good, check connections between alternator and battery, and check all fuses.

Battery light on my message center

Hello...A red battery light or image usually means there is a problem with your charging system..either your alterator is either not operating or emitting low voltage usually because of diode failure...alternators generate Alternator Current(AC) which is the same of household current...but the vehicle can not use this...It doesn't even register...The alternator has diodes which convert AC current to DC(Direct Current) which the vehicle can use....If the alternator is not doing it's job...The vehicle will pull current from the battery while the vehicle is operating..which is not good. The alternator should be able to run the vehicle...all the accessories...and charge the battery all at the same time...Drive it into an auto parts store and have them test your charging system before you get stranded...and most of the time...the car will die at night because of the headlights.....Let me know what happens...I hope this was helpful.....PEACE.....

Brake and Batt warning lights on at same time while engine running. Brake fluid is max and alternator belt looks good.

1st clean all the battery connections,, it appears whats happening is that the alternator isn't being able to charge the battery after a start , normally a good cleaning will do the trick, But your battery could have a bad cell too, Just because a meter says 12volts, doesn't mean the battery has the amps it needs, so have the battery charged, then LOAD tested, any parts store usually can do this for you . once charged, and with a meter connected to the battery terminals, you should get a reading of 13.5-14.5 volts, if not, you have an alternator issue,, unless the brake pads are worn excessively, correcting the battery issue most the time will also clear the brake light

Battery been changed twice and after a week or two the battery will run down again

then your alternator doesn't work, that's why it doesn't charge the battery. If you wan't to know if this is the reason you can try this:
Start your engine, connect a multimeter on the propper battery terminals to test voltage level, with your car still on it must have around 13.5 to 14 volts. Turn on your lights and air conditioning it should not descend more than 13 volts. If it's less than 13 volts then your alternator doesn't work and it has to be changed.
Some people does this other test but is not recommendable: Start your car remove ground terminal if the car remains on, then the alternator is ok (If you have a tester I would recommend the first method)

Battery tests good & alternator tests good on 2002 buick lesabre. keep charging battery and then it does start, but not after driven for about 20 miles, then it won't start again.

Hook a digitalmeter to the battery in your driveway while the car is running. It should read 13.5vdc. If it doesn't, something is pulling it down. We can start there. Looking forward to hearing from you again.

Ive got a 1991 Eagle talon turbo with 5 speed trans, ive replaced the battery and alternator and still wont charge?

If you know for sure that the alternator is good then use an Ohm meter to check set to DC 20 when the car is in the ON position but not running. Unplug the alternator and put the red end on the positive side of the alternator plug and touch the negative to any other metal surface. Should be the same reading as your battery is when you do the same test on the battery. If not, then the wiring is bad and needs to be replaced.

Just because something is new doesn't mean it works so if this test doesn't work, take out the alternator and have it tested.

Also check fuses!!!

Alternator does not charge battery. Alternator light glows.

check for an inline fuse between the alt and battery, otherwise take a jumper cable from the positive terminal on the battery to the alt. battery terminal output direct and now check for charge

I need wiring schematics for the charging system on a 96 pathfinder the alternator is still good it's just not charging the battery it's getting power but not putting any out

test the leads at the alternator to be sure its not putting out,if it is than your cable to the battery is bad if not then alternator is bad.
