Have the fuel pressure tested. If it's low from a tired, old pump, you know-new pump and new fuel filter. Low pressure also causes hard starting.

The tach on my Thunderace jumps to 3000 rpm for a few seconds, then shows the actual rpm for a few seconds, then sits on 0 for a few seconds. It does this constantly. Is this a fault signal? Any help would...

I have a 1999 5-speed ford escort zx2, while im driving my rpm will jump up and down all the way to 0 and stay at 0 for a second and jump back up and down, .


Tach spring is breaking, you can get a seperate tach gauge in place of what you got. or how about this take dash out and get another tach gauge they are removable

go to most part stores and they can read the trouble code that is causing your issue most of the time its a sensor

I do not believe so, as the tach is related to your firing electrical pulse. have you checked the tach wiring for loose connections?
