This is a simple repair. Just remove the left side cover and the stator comes out with the cover. The stator is bolted to the cover on the inside.
Could you take a moment to rate my answer? Thanks!

Testimonial: "Thanks. I pulled the part out, but I was looking for wiring guides and things that I should do first like drain the oil, remove the gas tank, etc."

The wires on the new stator will have the same color coding as the old stator. Just hook up the new wires the same as the old wires. No gas tank removal or other extra stuff to remove. Just lean the bike on its' right side a bit and the oil will not need to be drained either.

Dead clutch lever

http://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-yzf-r6mmc-2000_model10891/partslist/

The clutch cable actuates an axle with a gear at the other end. This gear bears against step gears on the thrust rod, which pushes against clutch. Make sure there is a circlip at BOTH ends of this axle. When replacing cover, ensure axle is returned fully with handlever out, and spring is in place on actuating fulcrum of the axle. Thrust rod must bear against roller bearing of the clutch pressure plate. Make sure step gears engage at first tooth when operating handlever. The above link provides an exploded view of the entire bike in appropriate sections as an aid.
Cheers.

My 2001 yamaha r6 keeps draining all the water out of batteries ive replaced stator and voltage regulator

is battery more than two years old? if yes replace battery. Battery voltage should be >12.4 volts minimum. if it wont hold this charge its bad. Check all the wiring on your bike to make sure that you dont have a shorted system that is draining down you battery.

I replaced the stator and rectifire in my 2oo1 r6 batt is still not charging why

check the voltage across the battery, should be over 12v engine stopped, and 13-14 v with engine running.
make sure the battery will accept charge from a battery charger. the stator should produce roughly 50vAC from any pair or the three phase wires( they are the three that are the same color)

I installed a new quality battery, charged it. Dies in one day

It could be either your stator or your rectifier. You should check your AC output from your stator before replacing your rectifier. The rectifier is found bolted to the front side of the battery case.
Here is a link to a diagram to illustrate the location. The rectifier is #24.
