Question about 2001 Triumph Triumph Bonneville

1 Answer

When bike is in garage connected to optimiser the heated grip controller works perfectly. When i am out and about the blue light flashes then goes off. I have found a note stating that if voltage isn't high enough then this will happen. On the optimiser the reading shows 13.5 so i am guessing there is either a problem with my battery (although bike fires first time every time but it is always on optimiser when not in use) or there is a problem with the bike not charging the battery when out on a run? I don't want to go out and buy a new battery if that is not the fault - any suggestion son how to check and find out what is the problem? Thanks Colin.

I have had a Hunter 52" fan with a Hunter Breeze remote that has worked perfectly for almost 4 years. Starting last night when I press the light "on" button, they flash on and off at the rate of about

Sounds like a loose wire nut to me. When you turn the light on the connection warms up and the wires will expand. When you turn it off they cool down and contract. Combine that with slight vibration from the fan over 4 years it could cause a loose connection. Just pull the trim ring down and tighten all the wire nuts. The light is usually the blue wire. Dont forget to kill the power first. If that doesnt work its probably a bad remote sensor.Inexpensive and easy to replace.

Remote won't work but keyless entry does on garage door

If the light in the wall control is flashing press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds. Your remote should now work.

How do i get the wiring through the bars to the heated grips.

If you remove the pass switch on the left hand switch housing you have room to fit the round rocker switch in the his housing. This makes for a very clean installation. Since in the day time I ride with high beams on the pass switch was of know use to me plus flashing your high beams at a car you intend to over take seems to produce a rather random out come. I traced out the diameter of hole I would need with a scribe and then trimmed it out with a Dremel, test fitting the switch as I went. Much safer then trying to drill a hole that large in a piece of plastic.

The empty three wire plug under the nose fairing is intended for the factory heated grips. I cut of the plug and wired into the power here. There are three wires, 12v hot, 12v signal, & Ground. The 12v hot use the fuse in the fuse box marked for the heated grips but remains hot even when the bike is off. So I wired in a 12v relay using the signal wire to switch the 12v hot with the ignition. This will prevent dead batteries if I leave the heated grips on or if a passer by feels the need to flip switches on my bike; it's happed before! You will be able to tell which is the 12v hot and 12v signal by pulling the heated grip fuse and seeing which wire remains hot.

hope this helps

I am unable to close my garage door I press the remote & it goes down alittle then back up & the inside light blinks-I have a LiftMaster model #1260

I had this problem also last year. Turned out that my sensors at the base of the garage were out of alignment. They need to be perfectly facing each other or the door won't work and light flashes.

I have a sears craftmen garage door and the control switch on the wall light keeps flashing and I need to know how to get it toa solid light and when I press the button to close the door it goes few...

When the door reverses to the open position and the main light flashes 10 times it is a door sensor problem. Usually the sensors get bumped and need to be tweaked so that they are once again pointed at one another. Each sensor has a small light that must be on for them to work. The light on one sensor stays lit all the time and the other sensor light is only on when they are pointed at one another.

The flashing light in your wall control is a separate problem. One of the buttons on the wall control has an icon of a lock. Press and hold it for 3 seconds and release. It should stop flashing.
