I washed my V-Strom 650 yesterday and now it won't start. Lights, gauges react to key, fuses all seem fine, however, I get no response from start button. Lights dim when I push start button and that's...

It's probably just the the clutch ignition wiring clip located directly underneath the clutch lever. It seems to come unplugged fairly easily. I had the exact same problem and this was the quick fix.

Fuel consumption

Real Life experiance, if you ride your bike at high speeds, even with Over Drive engaged, I end up doing about 180~200 miles per 5~5.25 gallons which breaks out to about 36~38 mpg.

Course, slowing it down to 60~65, in OT will get you another 25~35 miles per tank extra. If you need better MPG, suggest the 650 for the job, The litter is solid for rider/passenger, as the 650 is more for the rider only with added mileage clearly in the 40+mpg rating..
