1999 Kawasaki ZX9R I have cleaned all carbs, checked all jets but I only have fuel coming out of 1 and 2. 3 and 4 get fuel at open throttle. all ports are open just like 1 and 2.

Hi, Michael sounds like you may have clogged transfer ports that external cleaning is not removing or there is a choke issue on 3&4 you may want to try a carb dip (very effective) and a carb sync. KAW NINJA 93 XZ600C WANT AIR FUEL MIXTURE SETTING FOR FACTORY I RESET TO 3.25 BIKE DOESNT WANT TO SART

If it has been sat for 2 years the fuel will have broken down so a full system flush with new clean fuel is a good 1st step.

If you have checked the carbs was there any sludge build up in the float chambers. If so I would dismantle and carefully clean with new fuel.

Make sure the tank is emptied and has not rusted. When you know you have clean new fuel. Try starting again.

When you get it running you need to use either a pair or easier 4 vacuum gauges to recalibrate the carbs.

This is fairly straightforward and a cheap set can be bought for as little as 8 pounds try Amazon. Obviously more expensive = better quality but if you are careful with them even a cheap set can be quite reliable.

Tip - Check each gauge against cylinder 1 for reading then you know if they are reading the same. Some are adjustable or just mark and set all to cylinder 1.

2.5 - 3.5 turns out sounds about right as a start point as you said.

Good luck

My crankcase keeps filling up with fuel and gas starts coming out of the fresh air intake tube why?

Hi,
The problem would be the gas float stopper in the carburetor.
Better open the carb and check the float valve if it stops the flow of fuel when the float chamber is already filled.
Your mechanic or you can adjust the pin stopper by moving /adjusting the float pin seat.
Hope that helps you out.

I have a zx900 2001 kawaski no start

hi this may help, check the voltage of the battery first, should be at least 13.2 v static, and on a completly different approach, check that the sidestand and clutch lockout switches are functioning properly, particularly the sidestand one, they are prone to failure and when they do they wont let start current through to the starter relay..hope this helps..cheers
