2009 Grand Caravan the parking brake light stays on after the parking brake is disengaged?

sounds like the parking brake arm is not returning to the fully off position. try pull the release handle and at the same time pull up on the lever. if the light goes out then its not fully returning. it could be out of adjustment or the brake cables or sticking and need to be freed up.

2001 Harley Davidson FLHTCUI Electra Glide Ultra Classic Back brake failure

Hi Anonymous, this problem is usually cause by the front brake light switch being out of alignment or the button not retracting all the way keeping your brake light on in a closed circuit, depending on your model year. 1996 and earlier models the right handlebar switch housing had to be tight up against the front brake control housing in order for the front brake light switch button to be fully compressed to stop continuity. In 1997 and later models the button was alot shorter and was more of an alignment issue in the switch housing. Rear brake light switches located in the rear brake line TEE can also fail in the closed circuit condition but extremely rare, usually they fail in an open circuit condition where the brake light is not able to activate. FRONT BRAKE SWITCH ON XJ750 SECA

Hi, Anonymous before diagnosing any brake light issue always check the bulb and fuse first for integrity a brake light staying on is usually caused by the front brake light switch, which is mechanical, not disengaging. On early models moving the throttle control housing closer to the front brake master cylinder is the main fix. On late models, the switch gets tweaked and needs to be realigned. A brake light that does not come on when the brake lever is applied can be caused by a faulty switch or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. The rear brake light switch is hydraulic and it is extremely rare to malfunction in a closed circuit condition causing the brake light to stay on. Usually, rear brake light switch issues are caused by no brake pedal free play or a sticky rear master cylinder piston. A brake light that does not come on when the rear brake pedal is depressed can be caused by a faulty switch, air contamination in the brake line, or no continuity in the wiring at the switch.

Rear brake light will not work when brake pedal is applied, both front and rear brakes run through same sensor front brake applies rear light, but rear brake pedal doesnt. where is the problem?

It sounds like the rear brake pressure switch is bad. The wires for the front brake light switch are wired in parallel to the this switch. Replace the pressure switch in the metal brake line coming from the rear brake master cylinder going to the rear brake caliper.

Good Luck

Cruise Control on 2001 Dodge Stratus SE stopped working. The green light comes on but it won't work. The fuse isn't labeled in either of the fuse boxes to see if that is the problem and I didn't get the...

Have you recently had any brake work done? I had a 05' freestyle that did the same thing.. when you tap the brake the cruise kicks off right? so if your brake pedal is sticking or not returning fully to the up position, the cruise will immediately kick off like you applied the brake. Check to see if your brake lights are staying on when you release the brake. Let me know what happens, please and good luck.

You can adjust the switch by putting your thumbs on either side of the switch plunger and pushing toward the brake lever. The switch shaft will ratchet into the new position which is will then be depressed by the brake lever when it is the brake is not being depressed.
