Question about 2002 Yamaha XVS 1100 Dragstar Classic
I have a 2002 Yamaha XVS 1100 motorcycle with starting problems. I started by making sure the fuel **** was on, the transmission was in neutral and the kickstand was up. Then I engaged the clutch and front brake. I turned the engine start switch on and pressed the start switch. The engine started OK and I let it idle for about 15 seconds. The air temp was about 80 F. Then I slowly moved the choke lever to the off position. The engine sputtered a bit and then died. I waited for five minutes and repeated the same procedure with the same results. When the engine starts, the engine trouble light comes on for a second or two, then goes out. Any ideas?
Air cleaner clean? Is it in fact warm (the engine) .
Id be inclined to let it warm a little more. Your hot bike has advanced time and as a result is difficult when cold.
