Theyre is a lub specifically for morotocycle trannys you can get from any cycle store (do not use Car trans fluid). Its red and is about $10qt... The fill is located on the left foot side trans cover and has a square/torx bolt to remove for filling. They don't have one bolt for draining, you have to remove the whole trans cover (6-10bolts) and drain the fluid (same as on a car). You have the one bolt to fill it afterwards, make sure you get a new gasket as well.. Should be about 1.5 qts depending on your year/motor

Hi,

The oil drain plug is located directly beneath the transmission on the bottom of the bike. You will see two drain plugs. One is on the bottom of the pan and on the right side of the bike (as you sit on bike) and is in a vertical position. This plug is the transmission oil plug. The engine oil plug is located on the left side of the bike and is in the left front corner of the pan in the horizontal position. The oil drain plug has an O-ring on it that you will also need to replace. Because of the sensor located just in front of the oil filter you have to either buy a harley oil wrench or go to the auto store and buy the strap wrench. The strap wrench works great, is cheaper and a hell of a lot less hassel than the harley wrench.

Where does tranny fluid go?*!@!! How much?

Gearbox lubrication oil is usually inserted into a the gearbox itself from underneath the vehicle. There are two removable plugs, one at the bottom for draining and one on the side for filling. The correct amount is when the oil starts to trickle out of the hole you are putting the oil into.

Need to know how to change tranny fluid in 2002 fatboy.

Since I don't work on the later model bikes, I'm not certain when Harley changed the location of the transmission drain plug. On your model, there should be a drain plug on the bottom of the transmission. If not, it's a small pipe plug located just below the chrome end cover of the transmission behind the exhaust pipes. The difficulty in getting to the plug when it's located on the side of the transmission is one of the reasons Harley moved the drain plug to the bottom of the transmission. Drain the oil and then remove the large plug from the chrome end cap on the right side of the transmission to refill it. The plug takes a large Hex key or Allen wrench to remove it, 3/8" on the earlier models. Fill the transmission with 20-24 ounces of transmission lubricant or H-D Syn3 20W50 synthetic engine oil.

Good Luck

After fixing an axle seal and the tranny fluid has drained out, where do you fill up the transmission with fluid. It is a contained engine with no dipstick. How much do you fill it up?

not knowing the make model and motor size complicates this, But as with the Malibu's that have no dip stick,, the fill hole is located on the tranny itself,, you have a drain and a fill bolt ,,fill the tranny until it starts to ease out with fluid, thats it, once thats done ,, put the bolt back and with the car running, go from Low to park a few times slowly , so any air works out of the lines

How do you add transmission fluid to a 2000 town country

The tranny fluid is added through the tranny dipstick (make sure it's not the oil dipstick). Fluid color should be red and the dipstick should have instructions on how to check level (car in park, engine at idle). Funnels are your friend here.

Does washer drain before the spin cycle starts?

Normally yes. There are around 12 to 20 gallons of water in the tub after the wash cycle, which will be anywhere from 63 to 110 pounds of weight in addition to the weight of the clothes. For the machine to start the spin cycle to remove this water would place a heavy load on the motor, gearcase, pullys, belts, gears, ect. With the water drained, the load is lighter, and much easier to start spinning the excess water out of the clothes. The normal cycles are: Fill, Agitate, Drain, Spin, Rinse Fill, Agitate for rinse, Drain, Spin Cycle and off. Imagine trying to spin a 5 gallon bucket of water over your head, full of water, and then empty. Which one do you think would be easier to do? And safer for you.

Transfer case maintentance

I assume you are looking for how often maintenance is required. Every 30,000 miles or 24 monthss requires a drain and refill.

Specs: RECOMMENDED LUBRICANT AND FILL LEVEL Recommended lubricant for the NV231 transfer case is Mopart DexronII, or ATFPlus3, type7176. Approximate lubricant fill capacity is 1.2liters (2.5pints).The fill and drain plugs are both in the rear case.Correct fill level is to the bottom edge of the fill plug hole. Be sure the vehicle is level to ensure an accurate fluid level check.

Where do i put my clutch fluid at?

On your model you most-likely have a clutch cable, therefore no clutch fluid. Follow along the drivers-side under the hood, a lever connected to a cable should be a-top the transmission. This should be periodically sprayed with chain and cable lube. Mine is a 1994 sentra GA16DE 1.6 and it still uses a cable. You should periodically change your gear oil aswell. It is much like an automatic transmission's ATF (trans fluid). On most models a fill hole and a drain hole (both with plugs) can be accessed below your transmission. When completely full, the fluid will be even with or just below the point of which the fill plug is slightly draining from being completely full. Most shops will check this free of charge.

Kenmore washing machine

Does the washer drain? If so, you may have a broken motor coupling. This may be the noise you're hearing. This is a common problem and is inexpensive to repair. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385250-replacing_motor_coupling_kenmore_top

If you do an inspection of the washer and find that it is not the coupler, you may have a more serious issue of a gearcase (transmission) or clutch failure. Both of these repairs can be performed without the aid of a repairman as well.

Please doublecheck your symptoms, and get back to me. Your intial description, however, sounds like a simple motor coupling problem.

NOTES:

A bad Motor Coupling will allow the washer to fill normally, but when it gets ready to agitate, a loud rattling sound can be heard. The washer will drain, however. There's usually the presence of black filings under your washer.

A bad Gearcase may will have similar symptoms, but there may be the presence of a honey colored oil under the washer and very loud grinding noise.

A bad Clutch will also exhibit similar symptoms. This is usually a little harder to diagnose without operating the washer without the outside case on. The clutch is located on top of the gearcase directly under the wash tub. If the clutch fails, the drive motor will turn the gearcase, but the clutch will usually slip and not engage the basket drive.

Let me know if any of my explanations sound correct. If not, post back with your complete model number and update me on what your washer is doing, so I can assist you further. I hope this helps you.

Cannot locate the filler plug for the transmission. need to know where to add tranny fluid to

usually there is a dipstick for the tranny fluid. if you can find that you add the fluid through there with a funnel. other wise you will have to look on top of the tranny for a check plug.
