Question about Triumph Daytona 675 Motorcycles

6 Answers

My 2008 675 is down on power and sounds a little off. It has 6000kms on it and a recent service. I explained the loss of power to the shop. They tell me everything checks out but to try using a fuel with less octane like 91 instead of the 94 i was using. Could this be the case?

6000 km service was to include checking exhaust valve, adjust throttle bodies, check ecm and general maintenance including a test drive. I took it out earlier this week and noticed a differece right away. its noticable in the midrange its not pulling like usuall maybe 20% less power. is it possible that it may have a small exhaust leak at only 6000kms. this power loss did not happen while riding

ex valve checked, ecm checked throttle body checked as part of the 6000km service.

Yes using the wrong octane can cause problems like this, use the recommended 91 octane, these engines are designed from the ground up for a certain fuel octane, the engine management system is set up for 91 not 94, also the cylinder design is for 91, you are just throwing away good money on the higher grade and most likely causing this problem, had many people be very skeptical of this, but they have come back and told me I was correct about the octane issues...

The higher the octane, the more power the engine will produce. Using lower octane will reduce engine power.

If the shop said it tested fine I would try switching gas but, also check the fuel filter. There may also be a small amount of moisture in the tank this can cause the same kind of problem.

The power loss could be any number of things, including bad fuel, old plugs, poor ECU mapping or some other after market add on that's causing a problem.

Okay the fuel will make a difference but not much. this is kinda hard to know how much power loss you have without rideing it. but if you had to gauge it by % what would it be?"

was this a gradual decrease in power or did it happen right away? when was the bike last tuned up? also did the shop tell you what they checked? sometimes they say they do and they don't.

i would say if it happened quickly then i would look at spark plugs and coil and wires. also the carburetor could have got gummed and needs a cleaning. it could be a little dirt in the fuel and air jets and causing it to lose power.

also it the power loss throught the whole throttle range? or is it just when you start of or at the high rpm's. this will all help me to get this issue figured out for you.

let me know and we can go from there.

Starts fine and runs but why do rpms go up and down with some loss of power?

Could be the valve in the carby. Had a similar problem with my Victa. Have a look on the internet for briggs and Stratton engine carby service. It was really helpful. Your carby may be different but the info I found was very helpful and explains how the power valve operates and what to do to prevent surges and power loss.

My 95 tahoe has an occasional ticking noise, loss of oil pressure at idle and loss of power

Prognosis is really bad, hate to tell you. Ticking comes from the valve lifters, losing lubrication due to lack of pressure and running dry. At redlights, when revs are at idle, oil pressure drops a lot, and engine really suffers. Have the vehicle taken immediately to a shop for proper diagnose and to see if engine can still be saved. The loss of power comes from the valves not actuating properly. Hydraulic lifters need oil at a decent pressure to "charge" , and if not charged, they will stay compressed, ruining valve lifting operation.

I have a loss of power. Car wont go over 3000

FIRST! Take/Tow your vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership and pay the diagnostic fee... they will tell you exactly what the problem is and the cost of parts/labor to fix it... at least this way you'll know what the problem is and what's required to fix it.
SECOND! Go to www.hmaservice.com and register( Vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you have access to shop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc. about your vehicle.
Unless you're mechanically and electrically inclined, option 1 is your best bet for a solution.
Your engine is a 3.5 V6? of course, the problem is in the ELECTRONIC THROTTLE SYSTEM (ETS).

Sounds like induction noise, ask the repair shop to check all the air intake pipe connections(hose clips) that they had to remove to replace the thermostat.

The Red Colour Loss On My Samsung SyncMaster 753 DFX

My Dear Friends,

I Understood the problem.

I will explain it a little briefly.

There is an Integrated Chip (IC) inside the monitor which gave RED, GREEN and BLUE ( Primary Colours) to the CATHODE RAY TUBE (CRT) otherwise called monitor screen.

Due to long run, the IC might be cold soldered and one or two of the colours will not be supplied by the IC to CRT. so the CRT (monitor) will fail to display and mix the primary colours to get othe orginal colour.

The SOLUTION is to replace the IC with a new IC. As this requires a little bit expertise, please get help from the monitor service technician and ask him to replace IC with a new one. This can be done in home, so that you don't have to take the monitor to shop or service center.

All the things you have to tell the technician is to come with a stand-by ICs (NEW) for the MONITOR MODEL, in this case "SYNCMASTER 753S".

It cost around Indian Rupees 300/- for the cost of IC and another 200 Rupees for the service charge of technician.

I hope you solve this issue, if not write to me at spiceprince@yahoo.com with all details.
