Question about 2000 kawasaki ZRX 1100

My motorcycle has a miss.

I have a 2000 Kawasaki ZRX 1100. It has a miss at idle, it seems to go away at highway speeds over 3000 to 3500 rpm's. I changed the spark plugs, one of them was wet with gas like it was not firing. After changing the plugs it still has the miss. And the exhaust pipe of the cylinder with the "wet" plug had heat in it when running. Could it be a stuck needle and seat in one carb? An ignition problem? Or possibly a burnt or bent valve? There is no noticable popping that usually comes with a valve issue. Any help is appriciated.

    I know cars pretty good , but you lost me on "HT". is the "HT" the coils?

    I bought this motorcycle 2 months ago and it ran flawless right up until this problem came up. I might have failed to mention, this problem occurred while riding. I had started the bike, let it warm, and had ridden over 10 miles. The miss started right after I jumped on the throttle to merge with traffic.

    Thanks for your input, I definitely want to check the electrical, but it is a little different that what I am use to.

Richard ,
check that your carbies are synchronised .
i would make sure also that you dont have a faulty HTand HT lead to the saprk plug which may cause the wet plug .
check all electrical first prior to thinking of a valve problem .
try to swap the HT and see if the senario happens on another cylinder . if it does , you know than your HT will be faulty .
try that and see how you go .

Will the front forks off a 2002 kawasaki zrx 1200 fit on a 2000 kawasaki zrx 1100

google the fork seal sizes for both models if the internal diameter is the same then they will quite sure they are the same.

You need to describe better what you are calling your airbox vent. It sounds like there is a drain hole or port in the airbox to drain away raw fuel that might get in there by flooding. If so it is fuel system overflow or floodign that is causing raw fuel to be in the airbox.

If you have a choke you have a carb(s). If it will only run on choke the low speed circuit is likely dirty/plugged. If it will run at medium or higher throttle on choke only you may have further carb pluggin gproblems and/or a plugged fuel filter or pinched line etc.

1999 ZRX,,,cleaned carbs, started it, revd to 6000 rpm and adjusted idle, then would not idle, I think i messed up the idle adjustment cable, is that possible???? any ideas where to start.....

When you cleaned the carbs was the idle too high or too low before the adjustment? I suppose a better place to start is when you cleaned the carbs, did you clean the fuel lines and flush the tank? If the carbs were fouled, you can be pretty sure the line and tank have crud in them as well. It could very well be that some of that crud made its way back into your carbs.

2000 kawasaki zrx 1100 how do i change tranny oil on bike. My frist bike, Not too sure on it.

transmission and engine share the same oil, so it is changed when you change the engine oil, and for that reason I change engine oil on my bike at 2 thousand mile interval.

Rough running

This problem, ironically, might simply be the screen filter on the in tank petcock. The zrx is a gravity fed filter-less fuel system with only the screen to act as a filter. I had the same problem with my black 2001 zrx and did a full tune up before pulling the petcock and cleaning away 9 years of sediment from what appeared to be a very clean tank. I simply purchased a seal kit from Kawasaki before the tear down and waited till the tank was as empty as it would get by riding it. The screen was surprisingly clogged with junk...and once cleaned and reinstalled the bike no longer ran poorly when cold. Im not sure why the bike being warmed up made a difference but it it starts and runs like a champ (colod or hot)!!!
