On the earlier models there are two self tapping screws with x heads on the underside lip of the rear section you undo these and the rear panel lifts up and out on 2 plastic hooks built into the panel. (it feels like its not going to come off at times) you can then get to the bulbs I would replace both at the same time as the other one will go in a short time as the odds are they were fitted at the same time in the first place.

Headlights on my2011 Suzuki burgman 400 stopped working

Hi, Amanda if your headlight is not working, only one beam works, keeps burning out, blinking, dim or surges from bright to dim to bright the first thing you need to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, then check your head light bulb socket ground wire for a clean tight connection, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply wire to headlight bulb socket.
2. Worn down solder contacts or loose fit of the bulb base in the socket due to vibration.
3. Worn, chaffed, or broken wires in the light circuit.
4. Corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets in wire connectors.
5. Faulty hi/lo beam switch.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
8. Faulty headlight relay.
9. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.
10. Weak charging alternator/generator/lighting coil.
11. Faulty voltage regulator/rectifier ground or overcharging.

I HAVE A 2008 SUZUKI BURGMAN AN400.AND NOT A 2003........ HOW DO YOU GET TO TAIL LIGHT AND BRAke LIGHTS WITHOUT HAVING TO TAKE HALF OF TH SCOOTER APART

Remove up and lower plastic cover, on the back of the bike. Just give them a pull, toward the back of the bike. They are just fixed with plastic clips.
It's very easy and handy. For the light bulbs they come off with a quarter twist. :)

Where is battery located on burgman 400 scooter

Open compartment just below the instrument cluster with the ignition key. on right hand side is a small cover held on by jis (Phillips) screws. Remove the panel and the battery will be in plain sight with the terminals at the front bottom. Remove the retaining clips and leads and then you can take out the battery and charge or replace. Reverse the process to replace.

Need to replace head lamp on suzuki burgman 400 2007 model (the posting info only goes to 2003)

patience is required. you do not need to take any tupperwear off unless you have particularly large hands.
anyway. turn the wheel the opposite direction of the side lamp you wish to replace.
reach carefully up into the lamp area and you will feel the wireing for the lamp,,,,pull it out . then there is a rubber booty around the light bulb connector...take it off.
now comes the tricky part....the bulb is held in with a small wire clamp. if you look inside the head light lense you will see the part that is holding the lamp. with your fingers , pull it down and it will swing out of the way..be carefull not to take it off as it is held in place. you will notice the bulb then will be free, so take it out carefully....
when replacing your bulb, do not touch the lense and slip it back into place. look at the other bulb to see it fits correctly.
the next tricky part is to get the clamp back on by pressing it down and around the lip of the light bulb into place.
replace the rubber booty...then connect the wires...
