Question about 1996 Suzuki GSX-R 750 T

Is there a reset switch on 2007 gsxr 750. wont start

I have checked everything from battery to starter cylanoid. Everthing seems good but when i press the start button the headlights just flash. I have checked all the fuses and i dont know if there is a in-line fuse. The bike has been crashed but bump starts just fine and everything else works great. I can also start it by connecting the terminals on the cylanoid so i know its not the starter or the cylanoid. what else could it be?

what terminals on the starter solenoid? the two big ones? if so that is not a good check. did you connect one wire from the big terminal to the smaller one then that would have been a good test. it really sounds like the solenoid. please let me know exactly what you did? and how many smaller terminals there is one or two?

You have some crushed wiring along the frame. Check the wiring from the switch along the frame under the seat for a rub or a pinch in the insulation. It has a short causing the lights to flash.

Hi, Timothy and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, needs to be 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
4. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
5. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
6. FOB battery low or dead.
7. Faulty ignition switch.
8. Faulty starter button.
9. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
10. Security alarm needs a reset.
11. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.
14. Check for engine trouble codes.

Hi, Biojay74 nice novella before testing any electrical component in the Starter Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test because your battery may have 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amps causing the battery to be faulty and must be replaced, especially "AGM" batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid or starter circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
14. Check for engine trouble codes.

Check for power to the starter,if no power there then make sure the kill switch isn't stuck or broken inside. If you do have power to the starter then it's probably bad.

if you follow your positive battery cable from the battery it will lead you to the starter relay. in the starter relay there is a 30 amp main fuse. check that main fuse and replace. if nothing still comes on, there's a good chance you fried yor computer.

Is your "kill switch" on or off?

1998, is your battery new and up to snuff? Do a hydro test on it ... 1200 is a good reading, A volt test should show at least 11 Volts DC. If this is all ok ... You might want to check the start relay. Check these things, if they are ok, send me a 'comment' to this question and we will go int the testing for the start relay.

Deal?

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, try starting with the clutch lever pulled in and / or the sidestand folded up.  Additionally, determine if there is a clicking sound.  If there is, then it would most likely be the starter solenoid.

Good luck and thank yu for asking FixYa.
