Dell inspiron 1300 does not see the battery

It runs ok on ac power , the green battery light is on as if the battery is charging but if you look at the power monitor or bios it says no battery present and if you remove ac it shuts off instantly, the battery has been replaced already and contacts look good.

Remove battery check if laptop works fine with ac adapter, if not then download the latest bios version first if fails then replace ac adapter. If laptop works fine with ac adapter. but cannot work with battery alone, download the latest bios then charge the battery for 6 hrs. if still batt not charging then replace batt. but as you mentioned you already replaced the batt and your still getting the same issue. replace motherboard.

Dell Inspiron 1300 Of front left four lights, the third is flashing red

I believe that is the battery light indicator saying that the battery is depleted. If you've attempted to recharge the laptop, I'd put my money on a bad AC Adapter. Try a different AC Adapter. Dell laptops are very picky, so I'd recommend acquiring a Dell-brand adapter to ensure it will charge your battery.

Problem of charging the battery

Check battery indicator. If OK, update BIOS. If no change, check battery bios info, if AC Adapter is incorrect, replaces it. Please comment if the information provided has been helpful for the improvement of my support assistance. Thank you and regards.

No power leds. My Ac adapter is new with the right voltage coming out. I have to keep on unplugging the power cord then the green light comes on my Dell Inspiron 1300

If the adapter is new or OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard.
This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Dell 9400 wont show AC power icon

If the computer is connected to an electrical outlet, the about10.jpg light operates as follows:
  • Solid green: The battery is charging.

  • Flashing green: The battery is almost fully charged.

If the computer is running on a battery, the about41.jpg light operates as follows:
  • Off: The battery is adequately charged (or the computer is turned off).

  • Flashing orange: The battery charge is low.

  • Solid orange: The battery charge is critically low.
Looks like the AC adaptor is faulty.

Inspiron 1300 battery

If you have replaced the battery with a NEW one and it doesn't charge, then you either have an issue with the AC adapter (If the sensing pin is bent or broken in the barrel of the connector, the battery will not charge) or the charger curcuit of the motherboard. If the issue occurs on a different AC adapter, then FLash the BIOS to current version. If battery still doesn't charge, then replace the motherboard

Is the laptop working without the battery, directly on AC. Have you tried using another charger or battery to see if its charging.
