Check chain tension....if that seems good then take cover off front sprocket and inspect real good for curved teeth... missing teeth.... or lose gear.
hope this helps..
can i please get a rating on this ..Thanks!

Hi, Brad I would love to help you with your engine or chassis noise but I just loaned my brand new pair of listening ears to your local dealer's chief technician so he could take your bike for a test ride and give you his professional opinion and estimate about your noise and repair cost. If you are a little short on "DRACHMA" and a Dealership is not on your list of fun places to visit then perhaps the list below will help soothe your worried mind so you can make an informed decision.

Won t go into gear

Dont run your bike. Drain the primary/transmission fluid and remove the primary cover. If you dont imediatly see the problem put the shift lever on the shaft and put bike in gear by gently rocking back and forth. If you still dont see the problem it depends on the year your Sportster was made. If the noise is indeed comming from the left side (primary side) you will see what is hitting what and making that noise.

Cant find battery terminals for honda shadow vt 600

usually the battery is under your seat, but you can always put the bike in first gear, pull in the clutch push the bike and pop the clutch, should fire right up.

I have a 2004 honda civic and it makes a droaning noise when i change gears, coudl this be an internal gearbox fault? i also have a constant screaching noise when driving when i slighly move the steering...

Pilot bearing or a throw bearing is what makes the noise while shifting gears and as for the steering noise, you either have low steering fluid or the steering pump belt is loose.

WHEN I POOT THE BIKE INTO FIST OR SECOND IT SLAMES

If the shifting makes the bike "slam" into gear then the engine is running too fast. Put the bike in first gear when the engine is running at a slow speed. When shifting into second gear, let off the throttle as you shift. Do not power shift, use the clutch always.
.
The rattling noise could be many things. Is something loose on the bike? Are you using premium gas? Lower grades of gas can cause pre-ignition / detonation / engine knock < what ever you care to call it. This is VERY bad for a motor. Only use premium gas and do not us gas with Ethanol.

Right shifter doesn't work

My 7 speed bicycle gears are not working correctly. 3rd gear is now tougher to pedal than 4th. Something is making a clickling noise and it seems that the gears are slipping. I am thinking that something was shaken loose while transporting on a bike rack for 14 hrs. Any suggestion on fixing it other than taking it to a bike dealer?

Gearbox 'clank', and someting sounding like it is loose

This will become more dangerous over time. Go to your dealer. This will be cheaper than an (uninsured) crash when you cannot drive out of trouble because you ignored your broken gearbox. This will invalidate your insurance.

Sorry but it's not loose, you have a bad shifting fork. The first gear fork is going or gone which causes the mis-shifting. You are hearing the clutch basket most likely. With the backlash in the gearbox you can get a noise coming from the clutch hub coming lose from the primary drive gear it is attached to. I also believe there is a chain for the harmonic balancer that needs to be adjusted. It makes a nasty noise and sounds like the engine is almost grinding when it does it. The noise will go away under accelleration.

Car is making a "whirring, rapid clicking" sound when I step on the gas. Happens in first and second gear especially (manual transmission) 2001 Honda Civic SI 95000 KM

Does it seem worse when turning? If so, check your axle cv joints, they make a clicking noise (especially when turning) when they are shot. Next check wheel bearings. Let me know what u find. good luck
