88 Acura the 7.5A fuse to the turn signal/backup light blows...

On my 88 Acura the 7.5A fuse to the turn signal backup light keeps blowing.I have disassembled the dashboard and have found that the circuit board attached to the back of the instrument cluster unit has some burnt circuits on it. If I disconnect this unit that should solve the fuse problem right?

SOURCE: My 88 Acura the 7.5A fuse to the turn signal backup/light blows.

Get an exact replacement at a junk yard. It must be for the same transmission, etc. You won't get too far without the gages. The fuses are sized for the load and I think you are on the right track. Putting a larger amperage is never a solution. Remember, all of the lights have a corresponding "message" lamp on the little car/door ajar key on that cluster.

Why does my turn signal/ hazard light fuse keep blowing out

you have a short in one of the light sockets or a worn wire from the wiring harness. could be the flasher assembly. are the turn signals different bulbs from the brake lights? Does using the brakes blow the fuse? (Rear lights or brake light switch on brake pedal). left or right turn signal blowing the fuse will tell which side has the short. 4 ways only, replace the relay.

(#23fuse)No turn signals/backup lights - keep blowing fuse. hard to get out of park.

You have a short to ground on that circuit , you need to look at a wiring diagram an see what all is on that circuit . It's hard to get out of park because this circuit supply's power to the shift interlock actuator . You don't need to step on the brake pedal for this fuse to blow ? just stick in a new one an it blows ? This fuse also powers the brake switch , which powers your brake lights . I keep blowing fuses on my 1989 acura ledgend

What circuit? Check the owners manual and see what all is powered by the circuit that blows. For example - the dome light and cigarette lighter could be powered by the same fuse. A dirty element on the lighter could cause cause shorting that would blow the fuse and put the dome light out. The symptom that you notice might not be the cause. You could also have a wire that has damaged insulation that is shorting to ground and blowing fuses. Faulty or worn parts could cause blown fuses.

The 7.5A fuse to the turn signal\backup light keeps blowing.

The only way to resolve this problem is to use a meter to find out if the problem is an over-current fault or a short-circuit fault. WHatever the case may be, the wiring and lamp assembly will have to be inspected for damage
