Question about Suzuki Boulevard C90T Motorcycles
If you use higher-wattage lamps in place of the factory ones, you run the risk of blowing fuses. You can calculate how many watts the fuse will handle based on P=IE, that is, watts = amps x volts. So if the factory lamps use 20W bulbs, 2x20=40, 40W=3.3Ax12V. 2x50=100, 100W=8.3Ax12V. So 50W lams will draw 5 more amps. You should not use higher amperage fuses in place of what the factory has installed because you can cause damage to your electrical system. Calculate the rest of the lamps in the circuit using the P=IE formaula and if it falls below the fuse's capacity, go for it.
