Wanted to adjust headlight beam higher, loosened L+R bolts, headlight would NOT BUDGE, then the nuts came off inside the headlight casing! Downloaded service manual, not exactly the right year (my bike is a 2003, but it seems it hasn't changed much since 1997), and they mention a 3rd bolt that has to be adjusted for the vertical plane but they show no diagram of where it is... or its function. Now I have to open up the casing and put those nuts back on the bolts, then still figure out how to adjust the headlight higher. HELP! And thanks in advance for any advice for this compleat beginner!
On the 85-97 GS500 E...headlight adjustment is made by turning the adjusting screw (phillips head) in the headlight rim located on the lower right side (looking at the light) Turn it clockwise to move the beam to the right, counter clock wise to the left. Vertical adjustment is made my loosening the mounting bolts and the bolt in the guide located in the headlight shell and tilting the light up and down as required. On some of the newer models there are little slots in the bezel, the adjustments are made from there. Good luck...i hope this helps...please rate me a fixya.

The solution proposed was not for my model year, and so it had faulty information, but it did help me in the end, indirectly.

06' Yamaha FJR1300A w/n raise windshield, activate horn, open glove box, nor warm up OEM heated grips. Are they all on the same grounding point, what is the location, and what is required to repair? (Y.E.S. not expired yet)

I have an extra voice in my bike(suzuki gs 500). It repeats about 60-120 times in second. Its like a chain would be rubbing into something(krrn krrn krrn). The voice comes while i am driving and staying still. If I rev it up the sound will disappear or other sounds just will cover it. Thanks for an answear.
