Over heating and spewing out coolant, could it be the thermostat?
It could be the thermostat replac eto be sure but also check to make sure the cooling fan is coming on periodically observe engine idling after the motor warms up the fan should come on after 5 - 10 minutes idling if not replace either the fan relay or the coolant fan switch
Overheating problem normally cause by bad thermostat or bad head gasket or both. If spewing out coolant from exhaust (white smoke) is indicate that the head gasket is blown. change the head gasket and the thermostat together (remember to check the surface of the cylinder head, i suggest must resurface).
If you mean the pressure in the radiator builds up until the coolant goes out the overflow, then you probably have a blown head gaket.
