sounds like a bad earth to me, any water ingress in the boot area? water in lamps? you should have at least one earthing strap from the wiring loom to the body of the car, find it/them undo them clean rust/paint from area reattach strap and cover with grease should solve it
Simple fix took me five minutes: 1.Gain access to the fuse/relay box thingy under the drivers side dash. It has a black plastic cover and two big black plastic screws, which don't really require tools. 2. turn on ignition and engage turn signal that is not working. 3. There is a module (cube shaped relay thingy at the top right of fuse-relay panel) Move it around, pull out and back in to re-establish connection. If your signal starts up, then that is it.
Hopefully it is still under warranty because there's either a malfunctioning turn signal switch, improperly connected wiring, or a solid state circuitry (chipset) problem. I'd take it to the dealer for diagnosis.
