Ariens riding mower shooting mix of oil/gas up into air filter housing when running at high speed and engine dies. carburator seems to flood when first starting. what could be the problem?

Check the engine oil level, If it overfilled, drain some off. If the oil is level/full, then you may have bad rings and or valve guides.
There is a blow by tube from the crankcase that goes in just before the carb. If you have too much oil, at high speed the crankcase pressure will blow the excess oil right into the air filter. Same thing with bad rings or valve guides. The pressure blowing by the rings at high speed is over pressurizing the crankcase and causing the oil to blow into the air filter. You need to do a cylinder pressure check. Putting the piston at top dead center, and charging the piston head with air. The flywheel can not be allowed to move or it may move the piston or open one of the valves. If the pressure drops, then you will need a ring job. Squirt some oil into the piston, and re pressurize, if the pressure drops again, chances are you will need new valve guides. The oil squirted into the piston chamber will seal the rings, causing the pressure drop through the guides.
Sorry, couldn't give you better news, but your looking at an engine tear down. You might want to consider the cost of repairing vs a new mower. 12 years has served you well.

Oil leak

Not sure where your oil pressure sender is on that engine, but usually they are close to the filter. Or perhaps leaning on the top of the engine, like the fill cap, cracked something. Another possibility is a bad gasket on the new oil filter or overfill by 1 quart.

Engine smokes for a moment when i start cutting model YT1942T

Is it Blowing White smoke, if Yes then

Use the lawnmower's oil dipstick to determine whether the oil level is correct. Maintain the correct level of oil. If you've overfilled the oil, open the drain plug, and drain some of the oil into a waste container. Dispose of any excess oil properly. Burning off excess oil is undesirable. It can foul the mower's spark plug, piston rings, and other engine components and contributes to air pollution. If your mower's engine has not been overfilled with oil, but still is smoking, it may have stuck or worn piston rings or another maintenance problem.

Some maintenance shops offer a mower transport service. Check to see if this is available in your area.

I have a huge oil leak in my 98 Toyota Camry It leaks roughly 1 qt of oil for each hour of driving. What would be the cost of repair?

Need to find out where leak is from. Kinda sounds like a crankshaft main seal, front or rear of engine. Front one is pretty easy to change, but rear main seal leak means you have to drop transmission to get to it. But it could be another seal or gasket. Can you tell about where leak is, from oil spills on ground where parked? Look at engine. Is oil seeming to leak from bottom end or upper engine. May need to wipe or clean it off to see where fresh oil leak develops. A mechanic may need to put it on a car lift to pinpoint the leak. Good luck.

How do you refill the transmission fluid of dodge intrepid 2003, 2.7 engine

drivers side under hood thru the same neck the transmission dip stick is in. be carefull to add only a couple ounces at a time using a transmission funnel and check while hot, running, and in park. each time after adding drive short distance and recheck.be careful to use only Chrysler approved fluid only. not all transmission fluids are the same. warning overfilling is as bad or worst that it being low. also worth noting do not use synthetic fluids or oils will cause oil pressure to drop. the same is true of the oil filter use only approved mopar brand filters or again oil pressure wil drop causing oil light to come on aqnd damage engine.

Can the Dodge dealer check the oil pump pressure? Engine is pecking at idle and is using oil, not smoking. Oil light is not coming on. Any ideas?

Check the oil level, this sounds like an overfill or the wrong weight oil used. It could even be a clogged oil filter, it could even be double staked oil filter "O" rings, one old oil gasket stuck to the engine, then the new filter installed over it.

If you just had the engine oil changed take it back and have them check it, if you did it yourself check it again.

I'm not sure about "pecking" ? taping?

Make sure you have oil, the right oil and not overfilled oil.

Other then that it could be an engine issue that would be hard to check over the net.

Good luck, hope this helps.

How do i change the oil on my 1990 suzuki gsxr 750

put oil catch pan under bike loosen drain bolt at the bottom of the engine always located at the lowest point when on kickstand. And then take drain fill cap off let fully drain...take off filter..I"ve never had a problem getting them off, but if you do, you'll need a filter wrench to loosen it. Now after its drained, reinstall drain bolt, torque down good and snug... if filter comes with new drain plug washer use new one...now take some clean 10w40 motorcycle oil and wet your finger and lube the filter gasket, this always helps when it come time to remove it.. and hand tightenen as tight as you can get it. Now most all bikes take around 3 qts, pour in 2 and 1/2 quartsm right away, and then start the bike for about 30 seconds, and let the oil get into the filter, turn off and let settle a bit check dip stick by only dropping it in with the bike upright. Then proceed to add oil only to about 3/4 from full..this will insure that you dont overfill...you never want to overfill. It could ruin the engine. Now stick the cap back on and take it for a test drive and get the oil hot,..turn off bike, hold it upright, and check level one more time... and top off if you choose, older bikes should ALWAYS stick with 10w40 and nothing else, dont put in any additives or synthetics this could cause clutch plate slippage. oh and i forgot you will probably have to take off one of your side covers to get to the oil filter and maybe even the drain plug.

Excessive smoke after an oil, oil filter and spark plug change on Cub Cadet LT 1018, with an ELS 500 Briggs and Stratton 18.5 Hp.

if you overfill the engine oil at all, or tip the engine when you're doing the change, you will get oil in the cylinder, resulting in your own personal cloud. It's also very bad for these engines to overfill the oil, as it can't effectively spread oil around in the crankcase. When changing the oil, fill it only as much as the dipstick tells you, even if the filter needs to fill yet. Start it, let it circulate, then fill it the rest of the way.

Oil overfill

If it has a paper filter, replace it.
There is a dipstick or a site glass to check the oil. See owner's manual. If you don't have one look online.
