Question about 2005 Suzuki TF 125 Mud Bug

1 Answer

I have recently purchased a suzuki tf125 from my local wrecker with the intention of teaching the kids how to ride on it, i have been told it is a 1981 model because of its yellow plastics. Anyway,i have had great dificulty getting it running. The spark is either non-existant or sometimes produces a very weak spark for a few kicks and then dies again.I have replaced the coil, been through several cdi units and have checked all earths and connections on the thing yet still have the intermintent weak spark. I have had the flywheel off only to reveal that one of the magnets had brocken off, i was advised just to glue it back on, however still no spark. Is a replacement stator the next move? (the spark plug has been replaced) Any help would be greatly appreciated Regards...Geoff

Thanks ollie, sounds good advice. Do you know if the TF stator is the same as a TS or any other model? I'm guessing that they must be as I can't see the TF having a one off unit.

Yes buddy replace the stator who ever told you to glue it back on dont have a glue replace this if it still doesnt work it must be the cdi unit which is running incorrectly you cant really test these uneless you have the same bike abd try it on another just try the stator 1st then replace the cdi if still no difference also try a different plug like the br8es etc

I recently purchased a 2006 suzuki boulevard and it just started to make a strange intermitted "crying / moaning like cat" sound when it is just parked -not running. What could that be??

My bike makes a noise like that especially after a ride , on mine its the fuel vapour either escaping or drawing air in from the fuel cap seal

Sound like an air leak between the carb and cylinder. Try tightening all fittings. Replace the rubber carb fittings if hard / cracked or chipped.
