Question about 2008 Yamaha Yamaha G5

Stalls at stop signs

Every time I stop the Vino Classic 50 stalls out - I have to hold the front brake and hit the electric starter with my thumb while giving it almost full throttle to get it to start again and that's too much for the front brake so it throws me into traffic

Remove and clean the carburetor. The problem is a plugged or partially plugged idle jet. There should be a throttle screw and an air screw on the side of the carb. The big screw is the throttle screw. Remove both screws and the float bowl and spray carb cleaner in all the holes and screens and jets to clean out the plug. Use goggles to avoid spray kicking back into your eyes. Put the two screws back in the hole each one came from and then turn them clockwise ubtil they LIGHTLY seat. Now open each of them one and one half turns.

My 2007 Chevy Aveo stalls at lights and stop signs. I had the 2 sensors related to the timing replaced, the throttle box replaced, and a new coil, all in the past month, but nothing has changed.

a simple test here is to idle the car, and put your foot on the brake
if it stalls then the problem is a faulty brake booster
every body sits at lights /stop signs with their foot on the brake not realizing it and miss that bit of evidence in determining a problem
check for vacuum leaks ( transmission actuator hose, vent controls) run fault codes to see if there are problem sensors

What makes my 2007 Isuzu turn off when I come to a stop

if it is petrol and you have your foot on the brake do a simple test first of stopping with the hand brake and if it keeps idling the replace the brake booster
next is to run the fault codes

My Suzuki carry van cuts out when you stop and starts straight away have had it put on a diagnostic but shows nothing

no year,
no country
no engine stated, (a hard nut to crack)
we (usa forum) do not have Carry here, so.. that is a problem.
UK usage of "straight way": i see.
so this is called 1 of 2 things
engine stalls?
or engine misfires, or both.
Many engines, (ours) have this thing called EGR.
and if it sticks it stalls on ours. it closes just as you stop
so if it dont, it will stall. (we clean it and it works , if lucky)

as is never getting a tuneup and spark is (uk;dodgy)
there are 50 causes for stalls(most inside engine proper)
the classic 3 ways.
  1. bad engine bad, or cant breath or egr stuck open or cat melted.
  2. bad spark. (tune up time, mate?)
  3. EFI sensors read wrong, so fueling is bad. or fuel pressure is weak.
in all cases we use tools to find it , after the 100k meter, service tuneup is done.
tools as in meters and gauges, (spanners are a given)

99 cherokee 4.ol stalls when coming to stop with ac on

but if you hold your foot on the throttle i t dont
sure.
that means the ISC idle speed controls are failing
or vacuum air leaks. (lean)
or too lean for any reasons.

there are 50 ways to get a stall
even the classic and simple do a tuneup.

If you have the foot on the brake when stopping and it stalls , try slowing down and stopping on the hand brake to see if the engine stalls . If it doesn't stall on the hand brake then I would suspect a leak in the brake booster that is affecting the engine by letting air into the manifold through the activated booster. If there is no difference have the fault codes read as there may be a missing/ faulty vacuum line connected to a actuator in the gear box.

Anti theft reset ignition

some cars , you must hold the brake to start. did you read the operators manual yet, if not , why not??????
park lockout. (takes brake foot to release)
doesnt start, there are 3 phase,
cranks does it? crank at 250rpm , fast and robust, does it
starts, does it? (your burning fuel now....)
sustains running, (if stalls in 2 seconds that is IMMO cutting out fuel)
stalls means it was running and it stalled, RPM is 0
post the true symptoms and stop guessing at parts, there are 3000 parts, where will that end?

2001 grand vitara runs good but stalls every time I hit the brake, I had a corroded positive terminal I replaced it and now I have this problem

stalls, there are 50 ways to stall a motor,
1: engine lost compression. (can do that hot, or over heated)
2: lost spark.
3: bad fueling. (too much or too little)
4: isc sticks (can your right foot avoid the stall easy, bingo ISC.
5: lost electric power to EFI system. lost 12v, (even a loose fuse)

sounds to me #5 based just on the brake deal.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Stalls and engine lite comes on

that is called engine stalling
all car when the engine stalled, the braking assest (helper) goes
dead. (loss of engine vacuum is cause, and is normal in all stalls)
we had to learn this in driving school in 1960, due to stalls then
are COMMON as nails, but the brakes still work. and ONLY takes more pressure with your foot ,
top cause of all stalls (and in 1960) is not getting a tuneup
ALL cars do this if you IGNORED basic SERVICE.
The ENGINE light came on
that means "get the car serviced," if you have tools it means
to a real shop SCAN it.
way ask blind web bunnies, this, we can diagnose your car,
or force you go get it serviced,
stalls have over 50 causes, a tuneup is top of list since 1884.
That old car in France sill runs and is serviced, proper.

try not to assume things, like pump or anything on car
can not be intermittent, (in fact assume it can and win)
get the car serviced
the operators guide, open it ? see the CHECK engine lamp page
see what it states........bingo

Car stalls at stop signs

will it re-start right back up?
next time try to keep your foot on the gas pedal to see if it stay running ( be careful when you do this, if you give too much gas the car will over come the brake and cause accident )
if it stay running then you need to replace an idle air control valve

1995 jaguar xj6 stalls once you stop at the stop signs

Look for an IAC sensor (motor) Idle Air Control.
Usually located on side & front of throttle body. Not 100% sure which type you'll have but if you have pintle type (pointed end) Remove it, spray it well with throttle body cleaner as well as port it came from, and retry. If it cures it temporarily & starts to do it again, replace it.
