Question about 1988 Yamaha XV 535 Virago DX
The low fuel light came on, but the tank was half full, and then, in one 1/4 of a mile, it felt like the fuel delivery to the engine stopped and started, loosing and regaining power. Now, when I turn the bike on, the low fuel light comes on as it warms up, and if ridden, it continues to stall in the same manner. If I wait ten or fifteen minutes, I can turn it over again, but it dies out in the same distance: not a very fun run.
I'm not sure where to begin diagnostics. It doesn't look like this bike has a fuel filter, which was my first thought. It does have a sender and a pump. Any help would be great.
Fuel filters are in the carbs!
[very fine wire mesh] throw them away & put inline filters on the fuel lines!!!!!!
