Question about 2003 Harley Davidson XL 1200 C Sportster Custom

1993 XLH turn signal issue

The right turn signal of my bike stays on (no blinking). If I turn on both signals (hazard) they work fine.
Any idea of what might cause the problem?
Grounding has been checked. Replaced a bunch of wires under the tank. I presume the flasher is ok (it does flashes, sometimes after all)...
Any other idea? It is driving me and my mechanic mad...
It is a Sportster XLH 1993

OK, this is odd. The turn signal is working when the bike is parked at low RPM. When I accellerate slowly slowly it stops blinking... only the right side.
    Any inside?

I would say that the increase in RPM (you can see the lights becoming brighter) generates more electrical power in the circuit and one of the element is sensitive to that spike. It could be the flasher?

Thanks for the support Paule, replacing the bulbs was the first thing we did. Did I mention that the bulbs (front and rear) are both working cerrectly at low RPMs, they both stop blinking at higher RPMs. So it must be something else in the circuit.

You have a bad bulb the hazards work off the brake light side of the dual fillament in the rear bulbs change the right rear turn bulb and all should be good if not look under the seat for a pinched wire

Alpha Romeo 156 My Left hand indicator light stays on continually, does not flash. and when I turn the hazard light switch on both indicators continually glow.

Generally speaking, symptoms of a bad or failing turn signal bulb are usually the culprit...in your case, either it's the front left or rear bulb. Varies for different vehicle makes...common signs include:
  1. turn signal light staying on solid
  2. or blinking very fast
  3. or either sides of the bulbs stop blinking altogether.
To test this, make sure you reconnect everything you disconnected.
Turn the left signal light on; go to the front of the vehicle, is the turn signal bulb illuminated? If it lights up, even though it is not blinking obviously the bulb is okay. If it doesn't, replace it- problem solved. You'll do the same procedure for the rear turn signal Is that lit up? If not replace the bulb and the problem is solved.
Another common failure is when the turn signal blinks really fast, same procedure as mentioned above.
If both bulbs for the left side and right side illuminate but don't blink, the problem is in the steering column turn signal switch.
If the left or right side blinkers don't work properly at all...then check the integrated hazard warning/turn signal flasher relay- that may be defective; again, that's usually the case if both sides of the signal light don't work.
If you are blowing any fuses related to the flasher system, you have an electrical overload in the turn signal circuitry.

Turn signals not working, Toyota Tundra 2000

Hazards work only when lights are off. Left signal light stays lit on the dash and does not blink and is stuck on (lit up) when lights are lit. If I place hazards on while lights are on only right side flashes and whole dash lights flash too... I replaced the flasher relay and it still does not work. Suggestions anyone? Thanks!

Check grounding at start of the wires coming from under the truck you will proble find a corried ground wire whitch cause afeed back to other lights thus completing circuit.

1992 Ford Ranger Turn signal/Hazard light issue

Can you just check to make sure the ignition key switch is not staying over to far and not backing off when you try to start it. I had a truck that did that and it messed up my turn signals until I brought the key switch back a little after starting it. Just a simple idea. Be kind with your rating for me. Raz

Turning signal

I don't know if it applies to the '92 Roadmaster or not, but I do know that some vehicles will do that if a bulb is burned out. I had a car that did the same thing, where one direction would not blink, but the other would, and the hazard lights worked fine. Replacing a bulb fixed the problem.
