Question about 2003 Suzuki GSX 600 F (Katana)
My bike had just recently started doing this. It ran perfectly before I left for vacation, it sat for 5 days, then when I started her up and rode it, the thing sounds like a vtwin [don't really mind that too much ;-)], and the operating temperature rises rather quickly. It does have a powercommander, runs rather rich (about 30mpg), and only has 9,400 miles on it. My first guess is one of the plugs has fowled (too rich) and is causing the engine to misfire at one of the cylinders. But I don't see how this would raise the operating temperature so quickly. I can get the bike started, but it doesn't want to idle for very long, and it stalls easily. I know I need to take a look at the plugs to verify fouling and if they are covered in black carbon. Also, I'll need to take a look at the air filter and replace that if necessary. I may need to get a better fuel map and tune with the pc...Any other thoughts?
