Use Seafoam, get it at auto parts store...your carbs probably have dirt clogging up some passages mine did and it took ten miles for i felt it spit out and all my horse power came back...Seafoam wont hurt your bike ...i use it almost on only takes about a third of a can per two to three gallons. it cost ten bucks from'll run rough for the first ten miles or so till the float bowls exhaust there original fuel, but you should notice a difference and get on the speed to help blow the **** out. use a lower octane fuel it helps the bike start easier. fresh cheveron or shell gas i found out is the best.. that mobil gas is a lower grad i think, and also go to a gas station that has a lot of customer traffic... that will insure top quality fresh gas... the gas they produce now is not the same as a few years ago and thats why we bike riders are suffering more problems starting....but dont fill up if you see the tanker truck there...they tend to stir up sedements from the botttom of the main tanks....hope it fixes it!

Will oil in spark plug compartment cause slow take off in acceleration.

Oil in the cylinder(s) can foul plugs, resulting in misfiring and thus loss of power. Another possibility is that the oil in the cylinder(s) comes from oil leaking into the cylinders. If these leaks are of sufficient size, they will reduce compression in the cylinder, and thus reduced power upon the cylinder firing.

2003 Honda VTX 1800 temperature light comes on when it isn't hot

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Grounded temperature light circuit.
2. Faulty thermostat temperature sensor.
3. Faulty cylinder head heat sensor.
4. Faulty thermostat.

I left the gas in the tank for almost a year, while i was undergoing chemotherapy, when i started it, it has aloud popping, no missing no loss of power, just the popping.

Sounds to me, like at least one of the cylinders is not fireing and the noise you are hearing is the cylinder attempting to come in, after a while does the popping stop?. Poss a new set of plugs will sort it out, it may even sort it self out with use

98 civic, erngine light comes on, and it stalls. turns on in min

Change fuel filter to start with. It sounds like it could be partly clogged. If no change, change plugs and wires. I'm not sure what you mean by the "rumble strip" thing, unless it's shaking as a result of one cylinder not firing, and causing a shaking feeling. A dead plug or wire would also cause loss of power and stalling. Let me know what you find.

Starts, runs fine but occasionally looses about 25% of power. Feels like its running out of gas. As quick as it lost power it comes back and runs fine. Runs good a few minutes, then bad. Thought I had some...

you could always try to isolate bad carb/cylinder by removing spark to plugs one at a time while the trouble is active-if you see no change when removing one of the spark plug wires that should be the bad one

Put new carb on 86 cr 80 ran fine 4 10 minutes then quit changed spark plug and gas still nothing. has spark dont know how hot also changed manifold appeared to be dry rotting still nothing. even attemped...

for any motorcycle to run you need three things. spark, fuel and compression. i see you've tried to get fuel and spark. if you have spark thats one down. dont pour fuel into cylinder. instead spray tiny bit of brakeclean or carb clean into spark plug hole. i have a feeling if you drained your gas after the carb clean the carb most likely sucked bad gas back up and might need cleaned again. ive seen it happen alot on ols bikes.
