I have a 1972 Yamaha Enduro. When running, the

I have a 1972 Yamaha Enduro. When running, the bike has plenty of power and runs well. However, when you slow down or stop, the engine speeds up like it has an intake leak. I have sprayed stuff around the carb and found no indication of the carb leeking air anywhere. Someone told me it may be a crankcase breather going bad. Can anyone help?

Do you need a battery to start a 1972 250cc yamaha endero? ive check everything and it still wont run....


hi.
i am pretty sure that the enduro 250 gets the power for the spark direct from one of the magneto coils. there are 2 coils behind the magneto. one feeds the lighting and battery for the bike.
the other should run through a set of points, through the coil and then to the spark plug.
you should not need a battery at all to start the engine, but you may need to check the points and the coil, and the wires behind the magneto unit for any damage.

Cygnus x engine cuts out. as you come to a stop at traffic lights for example the engine idle speed slows down and eventually cuts out. The bike starts up again straight away but needs throttle to keep the...


Check for any splits on the rubber intake sleeve.this is what connects the carb to the bike.If this does not rectify the fault then strip down and clean the carb jets especially the idle jet as it may be slightly blocked causeing such symptoms.good luck

I am rebuilding a 1972 yamaha xs2, the forks are


This is a great bike to rebuild.. If you aren't concerned with the bike being stock and just want a reliable runner, consider going to disc brakes. The front end is a Showa and is 34mm. This was changed to 35mm in mid 1977. Many front ends from other makes will work. The triple trees just need to fit the neck on the frame, sometimes there are neck cups that can be adapted.

Disc brakes that are 30 yrs old need to be thoughly scrutinized. Most likely need a complete rebuild. Don't waste money on anthing with pitting in the master cylinder or calipers. Drum brakes can usually be cleaned up and run. Check the mounting holes, these were easy to strip by newbie owners. This bike is a classic in it's own right, I have seen them run Flat Track against Triumphs and is a favorite because of plentiful spare parts.. on the other hand many *** bikes got treated like garbage.

I also believe there is an online forum that supports the Yamaha 650. do some surfing and you will find a wealth of info on the NET..

How to install a turbocharger on a single cylinder 4 cycle engine


While it is certainly possible, it is not really sensible to fit a turbo charger to a single cylinder engine.
The power pulses driving the turbine are just too far apart (one each two revolutions). To stop the turbine constantly speeding up slowing down - with pretty unspectacular intake pressures - will take sophisticated knowledge of pressure wave propagation, resonace chamber design, reed valve chambers etc.
Because of all that, you would also get intolerable turbo lag.
I suggest you get a bigger bike instead :)
