Look at your clutch fluid - if its dirty you may have the the slave cylinder bearing giving up as this runs at engine revs in the fluid! An obscure fault but one that boiled my fluid a few times in Europe before it became a dealer job to rectify. Most dealers in this country wont have seen the fault as low temp low milage trips dont normaly cause a problem.

I have a 2000 r1150gs and when i take off in first gear, i get this spring and knock noise like the kickstand is automatically coming up kinda sound. 23k on the motor.

I've always gotten the same type of noise you describe after I take off in first gear after starting the bike. This is my ABS brake system setting up and is totally normal.

Recently there is a lot of scratchy noise coming from an engine of my 2003 V-max when I rev it above 3000 rpm. It goes away when the clutch is pulled. Everything is functioning just fine, except that noise...

If noise goes away when clutch is pulled then it is a loose clutch basket, you need to replace clutch basket and clutch,They make complete replacment kits. Its not a big deal but I would stop riding it till you replace worn parts.Running it the way it is will result in a blown clutch and could do more damage. If you have some mechanical ability you can change this yourself.Good Luck Brian.....

Stuck in gear

ry useing blue LOCTITE on the pinch bolts and other fasteners to keep the shifter from vibrating loose again. I had the shift linkage vibrate loose on my Thruxton when it was new, I had to fix it on the road to get home.
