Question about 2001 Honda CBR 929 RR Fireblade

1 Answer

I have a 2000 CBR929RR and just recently the oil light started coming on for no particular reason! At start up it blinks on and off several times goes out and then comes on and stays on! I added about a half a quart of oil ( it was just a tad low when looking through the sight glass)! The oil light went out for a few minutes then came back on and stays on although it still blinks on and off at and shortly after startup! It's the only problem I have ever had with the bike! It currently has about 18,000 miles on it! I use Mobile 1 Synthetic oil. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Recently bout three months my engine oil light

When an engine oil light comes on, this is the 911 call to you that your engine is having an emergency in that there is not enough oil to lubricate the moving parts of the motor that keep it operating. Those knocking noises that you heard were the dying breath of your once dependable Ford engine; which is now junk. Because you "didn't have the time to pick up oil", you will now have to find the time to either replace or completely rebuild the engine. The Expedition has a V-8 so expect to pay at least $3500 for a new motor.

2000 flstc engine light comes on after start up

Has your battery gone dead recently? There are several things that can set an engine fault code and honestly due to that Id say take it to your local dealership and ask them to flash the codes for you, most of them will do this for free as it only takes a minute to walk out and hook up with the tool to do that. In some cases all it takes is for the motor to not start one time properly and you'll get a misfire code that simply means it was out of cycle when it fired the cylinder and as long as the bike is running fine, Im guessing that is what you had, however be sure get the codes flashed. Good luck

OIL SENSOR LIGHT FLASHING

in some newer cars, they have light that blink like this to tell you that you need an oil change. they are just set on a timer to go off every 3500-5500 miles or it could be a malfuctioning oil pressure sensor. either way its a eawsy fix. take the car to a oil change shop to have them verify which one.
