How old is the battery? This machine as I remember it had no kick starter. If the battery is in good shape, the next thing to check is the voltage rectifier and the alternator. Although, it may be some other part of the overall charging/electrical system, a new battery is probably the place to start.

Can the bike be "jumped?"

The goldwing has been garage kept and cranked abotu every two weeks. It is maintained with a battery tender and now will turn, but refuses to actually start.

Gold wings are notorious for the carbs going bad if they aren't ridden regularly. The gasoline gets old, the float bowls dry out and the jets get clogged. You can drain the tank and the float bowls and put some fresh gasoline in the bike. But, if that doesn't work, you'll need to have the carbs gone through and cleaned.

Good luck

The engine does leak from y 200 bik eit passing blue exhauxt smoke when it is running. Does the valve seal cause that if it not seal? It has powr but the blue smoke is the problem beacue i loosing oil...

Too much oil in the crank case will do this as will bad rings. This bike is 15 years old. Miles? Lots. Ridden hard? Rings are a possibility.. Do a compression test or have one done ... that will tell you what is going on.

Are you using the proper grade oil? Too thin will squeek past all seals - too thick will not lube and hasten the demise.

New battery will not start bike after a week. ridden daily

Check your brakelight wire and make sure switch is letting light go off. There is a power drain causing your battery to go dead. Also if you have any accesories make sure they don't use power when bike ignition is off. :)

Oil leak

With a ten year old 250 cc engine that has been ridden a lot you should be prepared to rebuild the motor. If you have to have someone else do it the bike is probably not worth the cost. If you can do it yourself the parts can be bought for less than $400 and installed in a day.

Will not fire

When you turn the key, do all of the little lights on the tach light up and stay lit before you try the starter ? I ask because my key-switch has become a little fickle this year. Sometimes when I turn the key, I can hear the electronics going through the pre-start sequence, but, only one little light on the tach comes on, and then I know that it's gonna act up a little. When that occurs, the engine will crank but will not start. Have to turn back the key and do a little jiggle and wiggle of the key on the tumblers while turning the key to get everything working
